Have a look at the first one, well it's the first one for me anyway...

Who does nature think she's fooling? The back legs are sort of believable. But the front ones? Come on, from the elbow down it's ridiculous. You don't even need to analyze the pixels. Fake.

And what's up with that black patch at the top? Black? Is this fox supposed to be part hyena too? That's just sloppy.

Totally real, they have one at the Oregon Wildlife Safari. Oddly enough they have only one and it lives with the Capybaras (world's largest rodent). I always thought that was a little odd, but then I realized a lone wolf would be rather foolish to try and take on a capybara.

I don't remember exactly how big a capybara is so maybe I'm off but isn't the capybara to Maned wolf ratio the same as it would be if a 2 foot long and 1 foot hamster was next to a cat?

A fully grown capybara is around 4' long and weighs 120-140lbs. A fully grown maned wolf weights about 50 - 75 lbs.

When you see them together it's no contest. A pack of maned wolfs could probably take down a capybara of course, but a single one wouldn't have much impact. It is an odd pairing of two animals though... Last time I was there they were training the capybara's and the poor wolf was just trotting around a safe distance hoping to score some treats.

I love these animals. They used to have one at the Melbourne zoo. I remember the first time I saw it, it was being fed huge rats. I was mesmerized. It's such a beautiful and strange creature. Like a big fox on stilts.

I've caught a glimpse of these at the DC Zoo. They stay hidden in their habitat most of the time, but you can know they're there by how strongly they mark their territory. Their urine smells like skunk.

I've had the pleasure to see this wolf in person once. It was pretty beautiful and striking.

Here's a video of one being disturbed by a giant anteater at the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans.

Ah yes a Lobo-guará, I've seen one up close, I even petted him. It's like a thin dog with pointed ears. It has very little fur and like to come out at night. Not a big threat to man, altough they could kill your chickens and smaller pets. All in all it's very similar to a fox, but taller. Some of the indigenan population even raise some as pets. BTW I believed they have a certain risk of extinction due to destruction of natural habitat.

And for the love of god, it is pronounced just like it is written: A wolf with a mane.

I've been in dozens of zoos with Maned wolfs and it seems that everyone wants to call them manned wolfs. As in wolfs that have had a man do something to them!

The thing is tall as fuck, but adults typically weigh under 60 lbs. It would be absolutely no match for a Mastiff, Newfoundland, or other large domestic canid.
