Rules

  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), weight loss photos, posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. Weight loss photos go in /r/loseit, DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

  5. Submissions must link directly to a specific image file or to an image hosting website with minimal ads. We do not allow blog hosting of images ("blogspam"), but links to albums on image hosting websites are okay. URL shorteners are prohibited.

                        Yeah, but half of that stuff is literally canon. Like the power cell (In the old old republic they had to tether the sabers to a large battery pack on their belt or back)

                        Then the special power crystal (special in that it's rich in the force or something), which is then finely tuned with the focusing crystal. This requires extreme precision with the force to identify the crystals and tune them, this is why building a lightsaber is the final test to become a Jedi Knight.

                        The energy of the blade comes out of the emitter as plasma while a magnetic ring around the emitter casts out an adjustable magnetic field to contain the plasma blade (that's what all the knobs are for near the top of most lightsabers. It's the reason for the sizzling and flashes of light when two sabers come into contact).

                        All the other stuff is speculation though. And aside from a magnetic field containing plasma it's all sci-fi fantasy techno-magic-babble. It's freakin' Star Wars, it's almost more fantasy than sci-fi.

                                          I am a writer and I use the DK books to help imagine (or make them more accurate) descriptions of places, people and things. The illustrations are wonderful. They are especially helpful for historical information but could be used as a visual aid for any culture, person or place you are unfamiliar with (e.g. the details of a policeman's uniform or a landmark in Boston).

                                          I also fucking love the DK travel guides. To say they are complete is an understatement. Tons of illustrations, maps, photos, vising tips and information, and background on thousands of locations per book.
