It's shopped.

The kayak has a sharp reflection, the shark fin has none.

In any case, Kayaks aren't a big item on the shark's menu and the only way the guy's kayak would get bitten is by mistake. Once the shark figured out that it tasted like plastic, that would be the end of the attack.

So it's just like most great white attacks where they bite first and don't ask questions later?

There was no attack, however if there was it would be because the guy in the kayak was a dumbass and acted like food.

I dive in areas with sharks quite often and they only attack when they're threatened or if they think you're food (or have or are near food).

Don't act like dinner and you'll be just fine.

That doesn't mean it's not shopped. It only means that it was published. And FWIW, even if it's real, the guy in the kayak was still a dumb-ass for acting like food near great whites.

From underneath a kayak looks like a big juicy sea lion. However he wasn't attacked because an attack actually requires at least two stimuli. He already looked like food. If he acted like food (lots of splashing or acting distressed), or smelled like food, then he would have been attacked.

You can't blame the shark for being a shark.

Don't want to get bitten? Don't be like food.
