Double Edge. DE blades tend to be much cheaper and of higher quality than cartridges. I too am a double edge razor convert.

IIRC Ted Williams managed to knock out a visiting Yankees fan with a home run. The ball had made a perfectly circular hole in his straw hat but the man was alive and well a few days later, and apparently became a Red Sox fan.

So technically it seems possible.

You do know that fans try catching line drive foul balls all of the time with their bare hands. Usually when they catch it, they celebrate with the crowd. If it destroyed their hand I would think they would be doubled over in pain. I played baseball all through high school, and took a line drive off of my face once and it was just swollen.

A homerun is (usually) hit with much more force than a foul ball is. I don't know the specifics of that specific homerun though.

Big leaguers catch balls with bare hands from time to time without destroying their hands. Kevin Mitchell did it somewhere back in the late 80's and I believe he was fine.
