Yup, should be in pesos, that's about the going rate for these things, though I'm pretty sure that isn't a current pic since you can buy a much nicer model right now for that price.

With current exchange rate it works out to about 860 USD, with a weaker peso (like the one from 1 or 2 years ago) it works out to about 750 USD

A common mistake perpetuated by school teachers...

I'll leave this here, taken from the Real Academia Española

Tilde en las mayúsculas

Las letras mayúsculas deben escribirse con tilde si les corresponde llevarla según las reglas de acentuación gráfica del español, tanto si se trata de palabras escritas en su totalidad con mayúsculas como si se trata únicamente de la mayúscula inicial:

Su hijo se llama Ángel. ADMINISTRACIÓN ATENCIÓN, POR FAVOR.

La Real Academia Española nunca ha establecido una norma en sentido contrario.

La acentuación gráfica de las letras mayúsculas no es opcional, sino obligatoria, y afecta a cualquier tipo de texto. Las únicas mayúsculas que no se acentúan son las que forman parte de las siglas; así, CIA (sigla del inglés Central Intelligence Agency) no lleva tilde, aunque el hiato entre la vocal cerrada tónica y la vocal abierta átona exigiría, según las reglas de acentuación, tildar la i.

It's just tradition. It's much easier to setup printing types without accents specially on uppercase letters, so it ended up being a common thing to do.

If its Mexico its around $1000 bucks. Electronics are really expensive in Mexico compared to the United States. When I visited in 2008 8gb iPod touches were selling for $500(or 5000 pesos).

Not really true. You're right as far as the iPods. Some electronics (like products from Apple and Sony) don't have direct distribution to latin america. Stores like Samborn's take care of importing these products and thus the price has to be higher than in the US (wholesale + distribution). But electronics that do have an official distributor in Mexico are the same price than in the US when you account for exchange rates.

iPad 2 16gb Wi-Fi, USA: $500 + 10% Tax, ~$550 = $6500 pesos iPad 2 16gb Wi-Fi, Mexico: $7000 including 16% tax = $7000

It costs more or less the same but the taxes bring it up, the US never lists taxes in the price.

Also, if you're smart you can get prices as good or better than the US during special sales(liverpool's gran barata).

Yeah... that's exactly what I said in my comment.

You can just as good of prices in electronics in Mexico. Except for companies who don't do distribution there. For example, Sony's Computer Entertainment Division didn't expand distribution to Latin America till 2009. That's why the PlayStation 2 used to cost 300 dollars in the US and 6500 pesos in Mexico.

The latin-american translation is not that fucked up.

We have pretty good voice actors in Mexico. So good that now Gears of War is only translated in Mexican Spanish, for the Hispanic region, including Spain itself ;)

That's one of the things that blew my mind the most when I lived in Mexico. The voice actors are ridiculously good. They even adjust the jokes so they fit with Mexican culture (like in the Simpsons)

Honestly, I found the voice actors from Mexico be sooooooo much better than the american version. They sound a lot more "adult" and not infantile like the fucking "Power Puff Girls" voices. The american Frieza was torture to my ears. I cringed any time I watched the american version.
