I flew in from Seattle and I only took one day off work so i had a pretty tight schedule as well. I basically had all friday to look at stuff, saturday was the rally and came home sunday. So I saw quite a bit of stuff for one day but I wasn't really able to go to any places outside the mall area. And most of the time was spent at the national gallery which was fine with me as I'm an artist.

I think I spent like 5-6 hours in the gallery east/west then maybe an hour in the air and space museum and I was so wiped out that I had to call it a day.

I find the crossing of the subjects arms alarming, as it makes me feel like he was an unwilling subject for the artist.

Also, I'm jealous of the fact this dude could skate without flailing his arms wildly trying to keep balance.

(For anyone who cares)-This is Gilbert Stuart's The Skater I believe it's a portrait of a William Grant (I, however, have no idea who that is). You may remember Stuart's portrait work from such things as the U.S. one dollar bill.

It's a pre-employment test for the Associated Press. You have to demonstrate knowledge of writing, editing and photography. They recruit directly from high schools, so the tests are kind of a big deal to some.
