Why do you keep saying I'm in desperate need of education just because I have different tastes from you? I am happy to acknowledge the contributions of American microbrews, but you have to admit it's not exactly a big part of beer culture in the US, as a whole (something less than 5%). American beer is mostly crap - that's not even something you could possible argue with, unless you really want to start defending PBR, Old Style, and the like.

So, while you're drinking your shitty Beck's or whatever pisswater you like to down, I'm drinking something better. Easily.

Oh, Beck's. That's pretty much all you Americans know of German beer, isn't it? Amusing. A few of my prefered beers would be Köstritzer, König Ludwig Dunkel, Maisel, König Pilsener, Andechser, but there's really just too many varieties - like the US, there are many smaller breweries, and just because you only know "big names" doesn't mean they don't exist here, too.

Oh, and American beer is mostly crap? If you honestly believe that, you're a fucking moron.

But look, I'm not trying to say "all German beer is better than all American beer", just that almost all German beer is better than the staggeringly vast majority of American beer. That a few outliers exist is not surprising - America is a country of exceptionalism, after all. The vast majority of American products in almost any genre are terrible to mediocre, with a small amount of truly astonishingly excellent experiences to be had be those with the necessary in-knowledge and/or money. Germany on the other hand is a bit more consistent - fewer exceptional experiences, but at least the average experience is consistently good.

I'm not saying one way is better than the other. For the true beer aficionados, there are very creative, interesting, and enjoyable American beers to be found, but as a rule of thumb you have to be looking specifically to get them.

I don't know where the fuck you're from, but your ignorance of the American brewing industry is obvious.

Your lack of civility leads me to strongly suspect where you're from, if that makes you feel better. I've done nothing but praise American microbreweries, I hold them as one of the great examples of the benefits of American exceptionalism. Your vulgar, invective-laden diatribes, on the other hand, are one of the all-too-many examples of the downsides of a culture that cannot admit to itself that it is anything other than the very best at anything in the world, all evidence to the contrary. Rather than simply being proud of your accomplishments, you have to denigrate others' in order to feel better about yourself. It seems sad.

Anyway, at the end of the day I find it mostly amusing how spittle-flecked you can get your computer screen based on something that, in the end, boils down to de gustibus non est disputandum. I tried to give you the honorable way out, but I suppose that went right over your head.
