Voice of reason, a rare thing on the internet. But notice, all of them were doing it on the bottom, where they had no chance to stretch out like the gif above.

All except the last, which looked the best (and possible to be the most successful), the dude was doing it from the top. So maybe if perspectivism tried it from the top, he may have a higher than 40% success rate.

I tried this and couldn't stop laughing the whole time. I would definitely recommend putting your hair up if it's long. Also, if you slide down the escalator afterwards, your pants will get black, and keep your hands off the rail or wear gloves, unless you want a rope-like rubber burn.

I have tried it at my local mall, works well. However and I must stress HOWEVER: Make sure that the two handgrips are not too close to eachother, your ass drops in and can crush your hips....

Also, my mall has another escalator set that is slightly further apart requiring some major core strength. But it is quite fun once perfected.

Well, why do you think he had his fucking hand in the fucking gears? The majority of the electrical components for escalators are either at the top or bottom panels in a little box their own. Power supply, though, is a different matter. as is he had TAPED OFF the area and the guy still thinks to hit the fucking button.

Whatever, gramps survived, and he did this weird lobster claw thing with his hand that creeped me out until the day he died.

I tried this after watching movies with my friends one fine evening in the summer. It does work, just be careful when doing so, especially if you do it downstairs because depending on the elevator and how long your legs are your legs might get on the railing in the bending portion and you won't have any spinning fun at all.

tl;dr: its fun, try it out just don't get caught.

I tried it once... it worked for about 12 seconds, went around maybe 6 times and then the rubber part came off under me and then quickly slid off the whole stairway. I got grease on my shorts and quickly ran away. AND my friend got it on video... although I don't know what he did with it. :(
