How about we have a rational discussion about this before you project your made up (and completely inaccurate) motives on me. First of all, I didn't copy anything to my local disk. Secondly, I didn't remove any markings at all from this image. Thirdly, why the fuck do you care about karma? I am a regular contributer to this site and I could care less whether I have 20k or -20k karma. It simply doesn't matter. With that said, I will at least explain why I posted this:

I found this picture funny and wanted to share it with reddit as I thought the average redditor would think this is humorous as well. I was not aware of the source. Why, you ask? Well, this pic was linked to me through an rss feed (which was a post from 'the daily what', I believe). I copied the URL of that link and it was "http://chzdailywhat.files.wordpress.com/2011/04/e9349da2-0d29-4cb4-a085-b811b054e18e.jpg" Kind of nonsensical and seemed like it definitely was NOT the origin. My thought process here was 'OK, doesn't say anything about the source there, just a rehosted picture with a stupid URL...well, I know how to make the URL less stupid...."

But before actually submitting this to reddit, I googled the only words in the comic "This is what you look like right now" and after going 5 pages deep and not getting any relevant hits, I decided to just upload the above link to imgur in hopes someone would find or know a source. Alas, they did, and I posted the source as soon as I had learned it.

So, in retrospect, I probably should have scoured the web for awhile longer to find the original, sure... And maybe abtrusegoose could have put a watermark on it as well. Yet looking right now, the original comic was posted to r/funny 13 hours ago (and about 11 hours before me) and it and has barely any upvotes. So, if I were to find this comics source and went to try to post it, it wouldn't have let me anyway, the filter would have blocked it. So your argument that I am denying him traffic is actually completely fucking false. By posting this (and linking a source in the comments), the creator is gaining more traffic and more people are seeing their work. That is without a doubt. So criticize all you want, and turn the hivemind against one of the few people that regularly contribute links to this site if you feel you must, but the real problem here is reddits obession with imgur and the fact that "something funny" < "something funny on imgur".
