  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

It's not meant to be sat on. This man is a street performer, traveling from town to town. He sets up the chair somewhere in the middle of a plaza or town square, then beckons people over until a decent crowd has gathered. He then does his thing (with the wave at the end being la pièce de resistance) then walks over to his booth, where he sells about 25-30 to all those impressed by the performance.

Then he gets the fuck out of there before anyone actually has the chance to sit on one.

That's not true. I used to work for a company called Scenelements in Toronto that made theater props. We once designed a table in the same fashion as this, and it was meant to support 2 adult actors on top of it.

I have no doubt it is a functioning chair.

If you don't believe me, take 5 minutes and google that shit. These types of props are quite common with more successful productions.

Just to be clear, Greyhammer, I was making up a story about some guy selling a chair that folds into a briefcase. It was intended to be a fictional scenario covering this gentleman's travels...someone who, most likely, could easily sit on the chair without any trouble. I believe you know what you're talking about; believe me, I do not.
