  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

This was from a Something Awful meme called "Slender Man", where people invented a fictional entity and constructed the entire mythos behind him. There's an ARG (Alternate Reality Game) running now involving Slender Man, but this pic is from a photoshop designed to look like a Slender Man sighting.

Yesterday before leaving for Church, my mum said;

"They came to take the statue away today."

I didn't know what she was talking about, I thought she meant some statue in the street. Then she took me to the wall unit where there was a statue of the Virgin Mary, her eyes glistening like black marbles.

"Not that one," she said, "The one that was next to it."

I couldn't believe I had missed not one, but two statues of the Virgin Mary in my house, on top of the unit next to the kitchen. I pass there every single day and I'd never seen either one. Then, just before she left the house she said;

It's kind of a fictional wiki. If you read through enough of the entries you'll see that there's a bit of a narrative involving a few of them.

Not all of it's creepy, necessarily -- some of them are just interesting/clever concepts. But most of it's creepy.

This was one of my favorite group fiction projects ever. The detail that is put in is quite amazing. For instance, the #2 entry for "Marble Hornets", right at 0:50 when he is driving up to the light you can see the slender man see him and move into the darkness.

The weird thing is the ladder to the slide. It's one of those movable stairs wheeled ladder things that you see in big retail stores like Wal-Mart or Home Depot for getting stuff off the upper shelves, with a sliding board attached to it. That's damn weird if you ask me.
