Rules

  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

  5. Submissions must link directly to a specific image file or to an image hosting website with minimal ads. We do not allow blog hosting of images ("blogspam"), but links to albums on image hosting websites are okay. URL shorteners are prohibited.

I'm pretty sure my doppleganger and I would fight over which of us has to stay and lead a normal life, keeping family fed, raising kids, etc. and which of us gets to piss off and see the world.

It would probably end up in taking turns being invisible and free vs. "being real" but having responsibilities, prestige style.

I believe his clone kills him. The first time he uses the machine, he sets the gun next to where he expects to teleport. The machine clones him, his clone sees the gun and then shoots him. Each time he uses the machine he kills him self and lets his clone live.. Unless I have it backwards and the machine actually does teleport you and leaves a clone in your place?

Whoa, I've been watching the movie slightly skewed. Still, the guy who doesn't kill his clone, though he has some serious hardships in life, leads a much more fulfilled life.

The guy with the twin or whatever? Every time they do their trick, they swap positions. In order to keep it a secret they continue living each others lives until they preform the trick again and swap back into their normal life... That's why one day he loves his wife, and one day he doesn't... One day it's him, the next it's his twin.. It's the sacrifice he's made for his art. They don't want anybody to figure out the trick so they constantly have to pretend they're the same person.

I get what you're saying though :) I've only seen that movie twice, but I love it! Great movie!

I seem to recall a sci-fi book where humanity in the future was dying, so they traveled back in time, and kidnapped people about to die in crashes, such as airplanes, and replaced them with lifeless clones.

The people in the future had clones as well, from which they harvested organs, I think. I vaguely remember a scene where a woman brutally beats her clone to a pulp.

You might also be disinterested in Moontrap, starring Mr. Chekov and Bruce Campbell. It has alien robots that rip people's faces off and use their flesh in combination with nearby filing cabinets and desk chairs to build bigger robots. It also has a sex scene between an alien and Chekov set on the moon, and I think a breast shot.

80's movies. I grew up on this stuff.
