Something must have gone wrong with the stand, cause as a kid I launched countless rockets,(my dad and I built a rocket very similar) and every launch went off without a hitch. It was when they were coming back down to earth that was the problem: sometimes the chute would deploy, other times not.

hmm, now that I think about it I would love to build one again and launch it. It was pretty fun.
