I've heard of him. Introspective type, really given to self-reflection but for all that a truly scintillating conversationalist. Frankly, when I look at him I see a lot of myself.

That is the Griffith Observatory in Griffith Park, CA. It has one of the world's largest Foucault pendulums, three different planetarium shows (including a new "Light of the Valkyries" Aurora Borealis show), multiple floors of exhibits, a Leonard Nimoy auditorium and a beautiful night skyline of downtown Los Angeles. Cool place.

I love the Griffith Observatory, but the Foucault pendulum there is not close to being the largest in the world. Heck, the one at my school is over twice as long (not sure about the weight though).
