Oh no. It's no joke. Most if not all public parks in the U.S. require individuals or groups to obtain a permit. Otherwise you get beaten and cited for having open containers. Sometimes the townspeople come out with their torches and pitchforks.

The fire light is nice.

I think this varies by state. Parks that disallow alcohol are in the minority in Oregon, at least in my experience, which is also anecdotal and probably shouldn't be considered a trusted source.

It may very well. They allow open containers in Nevada at least in some places. Not sure if that applies to the parks as well. Here in California, I don't think there are any public areas which allow open containers without an event permit or whatnot.

It's a joke referring to the fact that the religious typically view atheists as being ultra-utilitarian, and would thus condone eating babies in order to avoid starvation and overpopulation.

Maybe not worse than C&H, but its badly drawn enough to get the joke across.

I mean, the only reason that the joke works at all is because it is badly drawn. If it were well drawn there is no way that anyone would mistake a lump of flesh from a bit of watermelon in panel 4.

Though I should clarify, by "random" I just mean whatever order my eyes happen to go in. So for long comics, I read pretty much linearly, though a few of the exchanges of dialog might be out of order (which with Dresden Codak, it can be hard to tell the difference).
