Being originally from Oklahoma I know this is a Day Light Donut shop probably in some dilapidated small Oklahoma town.     I've heard of ebonics. From Wikipedia, "Over time, and especially since 1996, it has been used more often to refer to African American Vernacular English (distinctively nonstandard Black United States English), asserting the independence of this from (standard) English." Which backs up the American thing.

    I live in Canada. I grew up in a very white small town. I studied in a city that was about 50% white, 50% Asian. I now live in a city that is french-speaking, and though there are a fair number of Africans here, they all speak French. So pretty much all the African people I have met in my life are French speaking, and thus do not speak ebonics. Even the few Black people I knew in Ontario and BC spoke normal Canadian English.

      I grew up in an area of BC known as the Okanagan, the name frequently gets shortened to OK. There are so many businesses there with names like OK Pizza, OK Mechanics, OK Electronics. Makes me laugh every time.

      There'e a Daylight Doughnuts in Hickory, NC and their old location had a lit sign, but the bulbs were out on the first half so at night it just said "Donuts"

      Seemed fitting, as it wasn't false advertising once night rolled around.
