Try this: part of his will indicated that his funds were to be set to a charity for homeless animals.

His widow pulled Chris Rock off of portraying him due to CR's indicating that it was "alright" for black people to not like pit bulls on account of "their mutual history".

I'm really confused by your comment. First , did you really abbreviate Chris Rock?

also, are you saying that chris rock was supposed to play Richard Pryor in a movie, but his widow took the part away from him because chris rock said that it's okay for blacks to dislike pitbulls?

Not trying to be dickish, I'm just confused.

Agreed, I didn't understand his second sentence either.

He was amongst the greatest and bravest comics that ever lived, right up there with Bill Hicks, George Carlin and Lenny Bruce. You can download the full Dvdrip of what is perhaps his best live concert here: http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/5158292/Richard_Pryor.Live_in_Concert.DVDRip.XviD-Atilla82

Any source or video for this? Not that I don't believe it, but I'd like to see the whole bit.

Slacktivist has an interesting take on vampires and crucifixes (he's a rather sensible evangelical).

This is why "evil" wins, because "good is dumb" - Spaceballs ftw.

I'm sad he was one of my 2 favorite comedians and I had no idea he was dead.

WTF... tophat_jones. Get your shit together, man.

It's easy to be confused when his documentary is called, "I Ain't Dead Yet, Motherfucker."

What's the movie where he plays a blind guy? I only watched a few minutes of it in some middle east hotel and had to leave because of a meeting. It looked hilarious.

Look - you people are missing the obvious explanation. Take a look at the facts:

  • Some guy in the past has supernatural powers, including what are clearly feats of mind control, and raising people from the dead. Both powers traditionally attributed to vampires. Notably, those he raised were careful to avoid sunlight on any exposed skin ("bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin")

  • He later sits down with a bunch of friends for supper and talks to them about drinking blood. Points out that if they do this, they will live forever.

  • He then gets imprisoned by the authorities and killed, but pretty much as soon as the corpse gets moved from the sunlight into a nice dark cave, rises from the grave. (Clearly the Romans had got the details of vampire slaying confused - you're supposed to nail the wooden stake through the vampire, not nail the vampire to the wooden stake)

  • Years later, we get stories of a vampire with similar powers who recoils in fear from a cross.

Well duh! It was the same guy! You'd have serious psychological issues about them too if you'd been nailed to one for 3 days!

So was Richard Pryor an atheist or simply non-religious?

[–]Netcob 1 point2 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

what's the difference?

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points ago*

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

An atheist lacks a God belief and a non-religious person lacks a religious belief. You can be non-religious and still believe in God, like many deists who don't subscribe to any religious dogma but believe in an impersonal deity. Atheists are usually non-religious, but you can be religious and still be an atheist, like many Buddhists who don't believe in God but believe in reincarnation and other supernatural concepts.

i think lacenaire is asking if Pryor explicitely believed there was no god, or just didn't care.

I rewatched "Hear No Evil, See No Evil" and "Toys" this weekend. It made me really sad. I miss Richard Pryor so much and it saddens me that the younger generation has idea who he is.

He isn't being racist, it is the name of one of his albums. RP was always taking the piss out of racism.

I loved his Job Application sketch. http://www.livevideo.com/video/534015CE8FD3470FBEDD26BE16FC7496/job-interview.aspx

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not but that is the title of one of Mr Pryor's albums. And it is outstanding.
