If you think the problem is that the media doesn't spend enough time publicizing the problems in the Black Community, I have a shocking view for you- it spends far too much time.

I don't hear about the white race swirling around the tubes because of pockets of rural folk who deny science, or because of californian space age hippies so far from reality that they think that water is literally evil. I don't hear anyone lamenting the fall of the white race over the spreading meth problem across the southeast. What i do hear all the time is how black fathers don't exist, how black people are criminals, and a constant social rhetoric on how terrible black people are that it can't even be pointed out without someone responding with "but hey, did you notice how terrible black people are doing?"

Did you ever consider the fact that if we realize that advertising has an actual and documented effect the fact that everywhere you turn nothing but negativity is spoken about an entire race, even in the news might have an effect on society?

Remember the last time you saw a study on how black communities were reviving and propsering? Now how about the last one with crime statistics, number of missing fathers, and a general sky is falling tone.

But i can't talk about this because despite this being a progressive place pointing out that the status quo is garbage and stays garbage because no one wants to talk about it is either too unpleasant or too controversial to be discussed.

Or maybe it's just me, maybe i am wrong and black people are somehow venerated and there isn't an entire focus on every negative aspect on black culture except our sexuality and our "coolness" in terms of urban culture. Maybe there's some other explanation for the fact that i see negative "jokes" about black people more than i see them about any other race. Perhaps that time that one user did a theoryofreddit post on searching for racist terms and found that for a site exclusion of reddit.com terms racist against blacks were used an astonishingly higher rate than any other race was just some sort of fluke.

Maybe i've just completely missed the mark on the black experience here. Hell, i only have one set of eyes, what do you think i got wrong here?
