Did this wizard magically change his jackets at the end?

[–]AMISHassassin 86 points87 points ago

I know zero about making .gif files so to me this is a work of art magic.

[–]AriBBCP 54 points55 points ago

There's two joggers, in the first part of the gif, the black one is seen, with the white one following close behind. The last frame of the gif has the white one in about the same spot as the black one was at the beginning of the gif, thus creating the effect that you see.

[–]martiniman 136 points137 points ago

Nah, it's just one guy that transmogrifies into a black dude.

[–]sakamake 75 points76 points ago

Occam's Razor.

[–]boofbonzer81 24 points25 points ago

yeah, its called reverse osmosis jones.

[–]as_a_black_guy 28 points29 points ago

"now how should I spend these points?"

[–]GuyIncognit0 9 points10 points ago

He should take the "Silent running Perk" might come handy as a jogger. He souldn't go for "Bloody Mess" though..

[–]frickindeal 9 points10 points ago

Hookers and blow, obviously.

[–]ajkkjjk52 2 points3 points ago

Dump them all into melanin.

[–]DecryptedGaming 114 points115 points ago

The kid loops well, the running guy loops well, the reporter loops well, the waiter in the back loops ok, and the lady in the top left loops around the table.

[–]labiator 11 points12 points ago

You can tell it's a lady looping around the table?

[–]AP_YI_OP 21 points22 points ago

What is? I can't see shit, and I blew it up fullscreen. This monitor wasn't cheap.

[–]flowercup 2 points3 points ago

I just went through this gif one frame at a time and guess what? Turns out that's a white lady. Proof

[–]RedPhalcon 3 points4 points ago

pretty sure that's a white woman from the cut of the collar.

[–]AlmostHonestAbe 0 points1 point ago

[–]Sohcahtoa82 5 points6 points ago

I'm missing a reference, aren't I?

[–]lllllllillllllllllll 9 points10 points ago

Kung Pow, hilarious movie. Highly recommend

[–]ArJooDeJew 7 points8 points ago

See, while I absolutely love the movie, I hesitate to recommend it to anyone over the age of twelve.

I watched Kung Pow when I was twelve and I thought it was hilarious, and I still do. But then I sat down and watched it with friends (of a like-minded demographic, so that wasn't an issue) around age 21 and they thought it was the stupidest thing they'd ever seen.

So...the point is: be careful recommending Kung Pow.

[–]littlesteviebrule 13 points14 points ago

mmmmHMHHHMMMMmmmmm....birdie.

Weeeooweeeooweeeeoweeeeo

[–]devatrox 16 points17 points ago

WOLOLOOO!

[–]tisnolie 94 points95 points ago

First I thought it was magic, then realized, just racist.

[–]lostpatrol 64 points65 points ago

Wizards can be racist as well. You didn't think Gandalf was gonna turn into the black wizard did you?

[–]small_root 24 points25 points ago

Confirmed for legit.

Sirius's last name was Black, thus why Kingsley Shacklebolt helped him hide from the Ministry.

[–]IratusTaurus 13 points14 points ago

Logic checks out.

[–]PortiasCreed 3 points4 points ago

Why do you think they were so quick to throw him in Azkaban?

[–]alreadytakenusername[!] 7 points8 points ago

Relevant American pop-cultural stereotype: the magic negro.

Oh god.

Wasn't he also the black power ranger?

[–]KalisNA 15 points16 points ago

nope. green ranger first, then white ranger

[–]Corrik 9 points10 points ago

Then red, then years later black.

[–]KyoTe44 9 points10 points ago

I think he was the Black Dino Ranger

[–]Brittybotts 0 points1 point ago

He was the green power ranger before becoming the white power ranger. So... no.

[–]ussr577 2 points3 points ago

Yeah, i never liked that. Grey hair becomes white, not the other way around. Obvions racist intentions.

[–]clouds31 14 points15 points ago

YOUR CLOTHES ARE RED!

[–]cursed_deity 3 points4 points ago

also, he did a time jump.

[–]Turel 4 points5 points ago

I'm concerned that I didn't even notice that. And I watched it several times.

[–]chefmcduck 0 points1 point ago

Somebody needs to add the sound effect 'WACHOWWWW!' when he changes.

[–]Peace_139 3 points4 points ago

I didn't know Jackie Chan was a wizard!

[–]shoozy 4 points5 points ago

Jackie Chan is THE Asian stero type, where have you been.

[–]SpacePontifex 319 points320 points ago

The old man levelled up mid gif.

[–]ChangNotChange 27 points28 points ago

Is it still not an accepted fact that one can read/see something funny on their phone?

[–]Mikey-2-Guns 69 points70 points ago

You aren't supposed to show any emotions on public transport. It's a sign of weakness.

[–]owwhatthe 27 points28 points ago

It's true, they can smell the humanity on you.

[–]KGEjerta 11 points12 points ago

I can confirm this, I am bus.

[–]Nordiis 176 points177 points ago

There's an Asian student in one of my class at uni who bows to the teacher when he enters the classroom, I find it classy as fuck.

[–]Free_Apples 90 points91 points ago

At first, I was thinking this sort of etiquette could be good for western cultures, then...

The etiquette surrounding bowing, including the length and depth of bow, and the appropriate response, is exceedingly complex. For example, if the other person maintains his or her bow for longer than expected (generally about two or three seconds), it is polite to bow again, upon which one may receive another bow in return. This often leads to a long exchange of progressively lighter bows.

Source

...I realized handshakes are perfectly fine.

[–]Blacksheep01 64 points65 points ago

This is fairly accurate. I went to Japan for graduate school last summer, my first trip there ever. We went directly to the house of one of the families we interviewed for our project (questions and answers translated for me by a very patient Japanese student in my group!) and when we were done, the most insane bowing regimen I had yet witnessed occurred. We all shook the family's hands then started bowing while I was repeating "arigato" to each of them. They then spoke in Japanese to our Japanese students. More bowing, while I bowed, confused as to what was being said. Then more speaking, more bowing, bowing, bowing, more bowing. I finally think it stopped, then the woman said something else and there was another bow chain of 3 or 4 times (these later ones were lesser bows, we did several deeper bows after the first thank you's).

Finally we inch over to the car, the family says a few more things to our Japanese students, now we've moved to the lightest head bobbing bow while we are standing half in the car. Head bobbing bow happens 3 - 5 more times. Finally we get in the car, the woman waves while bowing from her driveway, so I nod my head while waving.

God, I just typed two paragraphs about a bowing exchange, do you see how long it took in real life!? lol

To clarify, I love bowing, very respectful, I've always done it a little since I trained in Ninjutsu 12 years ago out of habit. But it can get out of hand!

[–]Kylearean 19 points20 points ago

I was bowing subconsciously for a week following a recent trip to Japan.

[–]TubesockWrangler 6 points7 points ago

My family makes fun of me because I tend to do this half-bow-half-nod thing when saying goodbye to people.

I don't know why I do it. It isn't some conscious thing, it just happens.

I've never even been to Asia.

[–]KidsInTheSandbox 7 points8 points ago

Then you'll have dbags always trying to one up your bow.

[–]Gorillaz_Noodle 20 points21 points ago

"Bow so hard, mothafuckas wana fine me"

[–]oli-wan_kenobi 4 points5 points ago

You don't know where their hands have been

[–]Free_Apples 21 points22 points ago

[–]GLneo 10 points11 points ago

But you do now know the're empty, which was the point.

[–]sp4thi 6 points7 points ago

in my class most students don't give a fuck when teacher enters the class, talk loudly during the lesson and generally don't give a fuck about any requests to keep it quiet.

so long for going back to college after hitting 30 to give studying a try :(

[–]Nordiis 3 points4 points ago

I'm in your boat. Closing on 30 and decided to return studying last year. Sometimes it feels like high school with people talking between each other all the freaking time. I don't mind a talkative class but it has to be directed to the whole class or the teacher. I noticed it really depends on the teacher though...some seem to earn respect even without any sort of discipline. Also, in my second-year classes the general atmosphere is already much more mature..

[–]Antabaka 2 points3 points ago

When I was a kid, in the 8th grade, I moved from Albuquerque New Mexico, where everyone was dicks, to Missoula, Montana, and the difference is amazing.

During school there was next to no bullying, if someone got hurt everyone rushed to their aid, when one student killed themself the entire school grew humble and quiet, and there were only like two students that would disrespect teachers, but they would only lightly do it, and they made up for it by caring about class and paying attention.

Now I'm in college here, and the exact same thing is maintained. Nearly everyone is respectful and nice, quiet during class, and people don't even leave a few minutes early. They respectfully wait for the teacher to wrap up, even if the teacher is a minute or two late doing so.

The biggest dicks I've seen are the one or two people who smoke on campus despite it being a smoke-free campus. I've only seen two people do that, so excluding those assholes the campus is extremely well behaved in comparison to Albuquerque.

[–]henryha 72 points73 points ago

What British accents are actually like: "Oi you fucking sket ur tits are banging"

[–]brianbrianbrian 40 points41 points ago

Ouch Charlie...

[–]ratajewie 16 points17 points ago

I stopped enjoying that video once I realized how much the parents milked it/continue to milk it.

[–]umopapsidn 7 points8 points ago

You mean like reposts on reddit?

[–]ratajewie 4 points5 points ago

No. I'm saying they keep continuing with series and random videos of them when no one actually cares anymore.

[–]MrSelfImprovement 4 points5 points ago

Maybe their inbox was being flooded by thousands of "MOAR NAO!" messages and since they're, at the very least, decent human beings, they figured "Why not, eh?"

[–]ratajewie 0 points1 point ago

Yea, 6 years ago. Now they just make references to the original video in other random and pointless videos that aren't funny.

[–]DollyPart-time 0 points1 point ago

Is this a blanket dismissal of the artistic value of said saga?

I, for one, find Charlie Fix Me to be a heartwrenching look into the hellish depths of class A drug abuse. And Charlie Bing Me must be one of the most accurate portrayals of the volatility of existential purpose in today's digitized world.

[–]Failoan 64 points65 points ago

That is fucking adorable

[–]hillsfar 67 points68 points ago

Reminds me of one of my favorite anecdotes about the Japanese:

Two Japanese businessmen stand patiently at a crosswalk on a city street.

The light is red but there are no cars. It isn't until the light has turned green and the "Walk" sign has come on, that they cross the street.

When asked by an American who jaywalked, why they waited when there was no traffic around, one of them replied:

"Because a child in one of the buildings around us might be looking out from one of the windows."

TL;DR: Kids.

[–]Gorillaz_Noodle 26 points27 points ago

That's why I yell out very loudly "I AM LOOKING BOTH WAYS AND AM ONLY DOING THIS BECAUSE I AM AN ADULT!", as I jay-walk.

[–]abrykwall 5 points6 points ago

Fun fact: jaywalking is crossing outside of a crosswalk and is illegal in many US jurisdictions. Crossing against the light is not illegal

edit: Additional fun fact that is bullshit sorry

[–]it_wasnt_me_ 3 points4 points ago

you cant expect people from individualistic countries (usa, france, germany) to understand collectivism countries (china, indian) behavior.

I am not a clever man.

[–]CornFedHonky 4 points5 points ago

So how many more forms would you say we are going to need to see this content in? We've had the video, we've had the reposts, we've had the "fixed" version, and now the gif. All we need is someone to make a cartoon out of it now.

It's like he walked through a portal.

edit: totally made me think of this

[–]nativeofspace 1 point2 points ago

I like the part where the really old mans awesomeness crossed into the child-robot respect beam and he is transformed into a younger version of himself, and also creates a distraction for that time traveler to appear.

[–]IcecreamDave 29 points30 points ago

You can also take handshaking classes.

[–]3M_TA3 56 points57 points ago

Easier to just become an alcoholic.

[–]kmdg22c 4 points5 points ago

This is very true. Handshakes, if you never grew up with it, take years to master. The number of shakes, how long to hold, eye contact, grip strength, angle of palm, straight in or coming in from the side, stance and posture... Also, there are different rules for men and women.

[–]steviesteveo12 2 points3 points ago

It's also not a bad idea to take one.

I mean, don't take the 4 year degree version but a quick list of tips is good for something you do a lot throughout your life without thinking about too deeply. I imagine the same goes for bowing in Japan, Korea etc.

[–]SKaigo 11 points12 points ago

[–]Boomanchu 2 points3 points ago

I took Taekwondo for ~10 years. I was in the Dojang that the 'Grand-Master' taught at. He really stressed the whole bowing thing throughout. It got to the point where I would walk into my SCHOOL classrooms and catch myself starting to bow.

Overall, it was a nice experience. Really taught me a lot of respect and discipline. As well as being very proficient in the martial art itself.

[–]sigmunddelta 1 point2 points ago

I can't help but feel that this is an experiment in change blindness.

[–]mrgreenjeans9 1 point2 points ago

we could use a little of that in the u.s. these days, along with a big fat honkin' bowl of humility

I have some big cognitive dissonance going on around oriental respect culture. On the one hand I think it's pretty damn amazing and wouldn't mind it spreading everywhere, but then again it seems like respect is given way too often where it isn't due because of how deep in the culture it goes.
