Just a note: that's not a real Canadian maple leaf. It's the leaf of an invasive species native to Norway. As you can see from this picture, the real maple leaf isn't as pointed: http://www.northshorewx.com/images/2005/nature/Leaves20041017-033SE3C1.jpg

False, the canadian flag has a Sugar Maple leaf on it, not a Red Maple leaf. I approve of the paper birch bark though
