Ice forms from the shore on out, you can see open water a little ways ahead of him. Paddling through ice sucks but it's really nice being out there in quiet winter waters without drunken speed boats and jetskis all over. It's worth it!

All the thrill of exerting yourself to move at a snail's pace across the surface of a body of water with all the risk of freezing to death!

Paddling must get pretty tough.

Making it really hard to go ice fishing.

And I thought biking in the winter was tough. This is true dedication to a sport.

I bet his ass is pretty cold...

Gotta have guts to do that, tip over and you're as good as dead.

This is true... but on the flip side it's not that hard to keep from tipping in still water. I'm only a moderately experienced kayaker and even I have no problem going for 3-4 hours without even coming close to flipping in lake waters.

It's not like he's river kayaking.

Nah mate. They probably have a dry suit on.

Definitely has a dry suit, but cold shock can still kill you pretty easily.

Better not flip.

Well I feel dumb. I thought this was a picture of a yellow Mickey Mouse swimming.

So... what?

If you fall in you just have to freeze to death?
