                                      Naming conventions aside, I'm pretty sure Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters come from the comedy author who originally wrote Pride & Prejudice & Zombies, and just kept adding gothic monsters to literary classics, or historical figures' lives, etc.

                                      Your point about contrast in titles though still remains, but contrast has always been used to catch eyes in a wide variety of mediums.

It's freaking awesome, and I could barely tell that it was Canadian until they started cursing out of nowhere and calling locker rooms the "change room." It's similar in atmosphere to Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Reaper, so if you like either of those check it out!
