I haven't seen that one. I imagine it is derivative of history. Perhaps a lesson about some activity that was popular in the past but now only practiced by a small group of people. It may be as if the people are living relics. It's not a stretch to call that history. The whole purpose of the network is history in the form of entertainment. I realize my explanation is not aligned with the Reddit circle jerk, and i am prepared to take the down votes for it.

It's to show how older, less modernized ways of life are still relevant in a modern world. Plus, it's a lesson in culture for those who have never been to the South and know nothing about it.

I don't mind Pawn Stars, at least it will teach you something when they talk about the items. I can't stand the stupid "Look at Chumlee! He didn't get enough oxygen in the womb" stuff, but the items are interesting.

It's better than Storage Wars.

History, just cut it out with the reality tv shows. Ice road truckers especially. "I'm driving a truck, on the ice." Next scene, "I'm driving a truck, on the ice, and that other guy sucks." That's the gist of every episode. Maybe I should have done a spoiler warning...
