Don't worry. After you graduate, it gets so much worse.

Am I the only one who is happy to be an adult? I love working full time. I had fun in college, but it's way better to have money, it's way better to be able to come home and just...relax. No responsibilities, no reading, no homework. Feels good man.

Well, good for you. But here's the thing. For most people, being an adult is anything but just coming home and relaxing with no responsibilities. Try studying as well as full time work. Or having kids. Or sick relatives. Some don't even have much money to enjoy after their responsibilities.

No, I'm the same. I see all these posts about "Childhood officially ruined!" because of some bullshit or other, and all I can think is "So what?". Fuck your childhood. Why are you still clinging to it? You had no control over your schedule, you had no control over what you ate, you had no control over what you watched. You were small and clueless and powerless. I was happy to leave that shit behind.

Upvote for making me feel better when I grow up.

[–]12LetterName -1 points0 points ago

No responsibilities?

Well, one day you're going to have to move out of your parents house. Maybe start a family of your own.

[–]thedeejus 2 points3 points ago

I moved out of my parents' house in 1997. Why is everyone getting all class warfare on me? All I'm saying is, working and having time for hobbies but having to go to bed early on weeknights > midweek binge drinking and ramen, and college kids need not fear the real world because it can be pretty sweet

[–]racychick 1 point2 points ago

How do you mean? :(

[–]DJG513 29 points30 points ago

The flowers bloom, thermometer rises, and you think 'woohooo SUMMER break time let's go swimming!' Then the alarm goes off bright and early Monday morning, and it's back to the sterile office, cranking out TPS reports and troubleshooting PC load letter errors.

[–]doyoudovoodoo 0 points1 point ago

"braaaiiiiinnnnssssss..." basically every day of my life from 8-11 AM.

[–]gary88 8 points9 points ago

This is every Monday once you start working.

[–]fant0 4 points5 points ago

IF you start working. college education doesn't guarantee that these days.

[–]BlackGhostPanda 1 point2 points ago

And my parents wonder why i dont want to go to college at the moment.

i sent 70 apps just for summer internships. that said, these internships lead directly to 75k + bonus employment after my senior year

[–]OllieNKD 12 points13 points ago

School = reality? You poor, sweet, innocent bastard...

[–]Dudwithacake 3 points4 points ago

It's even worse when you decide to try to get back on schedule and start waking up earlier than usual...

[–]Kode47 0 points1 point ago

You mean people can do that?

[–]ivanmarsh 1 point2 points ago

Still one of my favorite scenes from any "recent" action film.

[–]Cloud7654 2 points3 points ago

What movie is this from?

Edit: Thanks guys!

[–]sweetreign 5 points6 points ago

It looks like Jason Statham so it's probably one of the Transporter movies.

Ninja Edit: Here's the full clip.

[–]suchanormaldude 4 points5 points ago

Somebody mentioned it after you asked so you can thank Rock-bottom_mokshada for the information, but it's "Transporter".

[–]ivanmarsh 1 point2 points ago

It's the first Transporter film.

[–]ezmack 2 points3 points ago

School is daycare not reality

[–]robo23 12 points13 points ago

It is also a place where you can learn a shit ton of specialized information in a relatively short period of time and do awesome things with it.

[–]ezmack 0 points1 point ago

I went to community college while working a full time job; sure you learn but I maintain it is a daycare for a lot of students

[–]nopropulsion 1 point2 points ago

coffee = problem solved.

[–]racychick 1 point2 points ago

I start my last semester of grad school next week. I expect to get hit just as hard.

[–]vincereo426 1 point2 points ago

Hooray! It's not the chicken!

[–]ODubhghaill 1 point2 points ago

That chicken looks straight to me.

[–]Rainbow- 0 points1 point ago

Knock Knock

Who's there?

The chicken.

[–]BlackRockKitty 0 points1 point ago

I thought it was the chicken, not reality..?

[–]bibimbab111 0 points1 point ago

School != reality

[–]mistawac 0 points1 point ago

Every January and August this repost somehow gets upvotes.

[–]j12gage46 0 points1 point ago

Are you sure it's not the chicken knocking?

[–]skeeter_valentine 1 point2 points ago

I'm a middle school teacher, and the best part about long breaks is that I get to forget about teaching for a while.

The worst part is that I get to forget about teaching for a while.

[–]Blabajif 0 points1 point ago

Someone with computer skills, please transform this gif into a chicken kicking down the door.

[–]vonillabean -1 points0 points ago

College is NOT reality.

[–]bujweiser 1 point2 points ago

I must've done it wrong, because I slept in that long during the semester too.

[–]iMCi 0 points1 point ago

2 was early for me

[–]coogie 0 points1 point ago

lol it's adorable that you think school is reality.

[–]Morganite2885 0 points1 point ago

Where is this image from? I live under a rock.

[–]Sieg581 0 points1 point ago

Don't lie to the non-students, like this is what it's actually like. The transition consisted of you waking up too late for 2 of your classes and saying to yourself "whoops." then you went to orientation like nothing happened, which it didn't.

[–]Bubonic_Ferret 2 points3 points ago

NoDoz and Adderall are your friends.

[–]Im-Chris -5 points-4 points ago

Too fast

[–]omfgpwnftw -3 points-2 points ago

That's what she said

[–]ryanbrown21 -2 points-1 points ago

Oh my dog tart was Joseph

[–]smsf65536 0 points1 point ago

I find it ironic that I am stumbling across this drunk at 1:32am and I had just lamented the fact that I have class tomorrow..

[–]v3ldna -1 points0 points ago

Reality? Oh phew, I thought it was the chicken again.

[–]ProbablyJustTrolling 0 points1 point ago

Wait until you graduate. Federal holidays are 100000x better than your birthday. Three consecutive days off in a row, LET'S FUCKING RIOT!

[–]robo23 0 points1 point ago

Goddammit I'm so excited for next monday.

[–]ProbablyJustTrolling 1 point2 points ago

I don't think I have off for MLK day. Racists.

Happy cake day, by the way.

[–]robo23 0 points1 point ago

Columbus, Abe, Washington, the Veterans and MLK get fucked.

[–]SupVFace 0 points1 point ago

Yeah, we started uni 2 weeks ago and it was on a Wednesday. Can't say it went well, but at least we only had 2 more painful days after that instead of 4. Used the weekend to fix the sleeping habit and I'm fine now.

[–]Parties_naked -1 points0 points ago

Except with more hangovers

[–]Capitan_Amazing 1 point2 points ago

But just as much stressed people shoved into sub-human living conditions as The Transporter.

[–]SupVFace -3 points-2 points ago

I still stay up all night and sleep till 2.

[–]Hot-Gothics 1 point2 points ago

Afternoon/evening classes? Or lazy bum?

[–]SupVFace 0 points1 point ago

I keep managing to get all my classes on Tuesday and Thursday. I don't always make it to those classes.

[–]Hot-Gothics 0 points1 point ago

Well, because I live off campus and roughly an hour's drive away I think it's a good thing to schedule all classes on either M/W or T/R. Saves on gas. Also it lets me have time for assignments without having to worry about having more classes during the other days I don't have classes.

[–]rock-bottom_mokshada -3 points-2 points ago

I just watched this movie the other day: "Transporter". It was 1 guy against dozens and of course he lives.
