Yep. Temperature is much more bothersome. They're kept at mother's body temp for months, perfectly controlled environment day in and day out. Then they're in a bright, cold place suddenly with people poking at them.

Not to mention, if this had anything to do with noises, then my deaf dog would be hearing quite a bit more than any test has ever revealed.

You can drop pots and pans on a tile floor right behind him while he's sitting doing nothing and he doesn't move at all. But he occasionally grabs his head with his paws and rubs at his ears.
