Blood is very red. VERY RED. Even if you spread it out one cell layer thin on a glass slide it will still look red. Water will start to look visibly red at blood concentrations of around 0.5%. So, maybe it wouldn't look like the gif, but even a little blood would be VERY noticeable (and VERY RED).
