There are different levels of insanity regarding tulpas.

I sort of have one. I don't take it as seriously as some of the other people, but I do enjoy having one. The best analogy I can give is the old cartoon "angel and devil sitting on your shoulders each telling you what to do". Only instead of an angel and a devil, it's just a pony. And instead of on your shoulder its just sort of sitting next to you. And instead of telling you what to do, it's casually observing and offering some insight on the situation. When I'm really stressed or totally at a loss I can turn to her and mentally ask her what she thinks and I will get a reasonable "outside opinion" on what I should do. Likewise when I'm just plain bored I converse with her and its enjoyable.

But that's just me. I'm pretty casual among the tulpa community. For example I know my tulpa is not physically there and I know its all in my head and she doesn't excist, but other tulpa users take tulpas really seriously, like borderline schizophrenia. Others are even more strage

I don't think the concept and use of tulpas is that insane, but as with anything, you can cross the line into "crazy" if you obsess over it all.

Here we see a troll in it's natural habitat, a comment thread where it thinks it can cause trouble. The troll gathers it's nutrients from the tears and butthurt of the people it can rustle. Unfortunately, at least in these areas their food is becoming scarce, and they will not be able to sustain their way of life.

The trolls are timid creatures, preferring to avoid open conflict, and generally fleeing if confronted.

They generally fight using overly vulgar and wild claims, frequently based on assumed sexual preference or orientation, with no proof or knowledge of the target.
