I know that there is a subreddit for everything but I'm still surprised by the random ones like this.

[–]Captain_Man 40 points41 points ago

[–]Th3Hon3yBadg3r 46 points47 points ago

Hahaha that's like the day I learned the hard way the difference between /r/string and /r/strings

Beware one of those two are NSFW.

[–]UkuleleNoGoodNyanyanyana 20 points21 points ago

fucking what

[–]IronRectangle 11 points12 points ago

Strings, apparently.

[–]lots_of_sarcasm 30 points31 points ago

Dammit I guessed wrong

[–]Captain_Man 3 points4 points ago

Right you are

[–]spacelemon 2 points3 points ago

with out clicking, i'm going to guess strings is about bloody tampons.
-edit-
i was 50% right, i'll leave it to you guys to do the guessing.

[–]Iloveangrysheepsex 3 points4 points ago

Also /r/gonewild and /r/gonewidl. NSFW obviously.

[–]monster_bunny 1 point2 points ago

I clicked on one of these before reading the NSFW disclaimer. I immediately clicked the other for eye bleach.

[–]Noerdy 1 point2 points ago

I am subbed.

[–]chasaurus 21 points22 points ago

This happened with a tree at a local park here too: http://instagram.com/p/ZUbWt/

[–]Stavros175 5 points6 points ago

OP's is a lot more deep.

[–]icypinnacle 7 points8 points ago

You are a brave lad.

[–]chasaurus 7 points8 points ago

Why?

[–]bloodloverz 15 points16 points ago

instagram

[–]chasaurus 30 points31 points ago

Is that something I'm supposed to hate with the Reddit hivemind?

[–]Shirleycakes 5 points6 points ago

I figured because it's way more personal information than imgur…

[–]chasaurus 0 points1 point ago

Okay, but that ended up not being a real thing.

[–]MrMuttonChops 155 points156 points ago

This is actually beautiful in a way. Makes me think of This Land Is Your Land. Some asshole tries to put up a no trespassing sign, and nature says fuck you, this land belongs to everybody.

[–]polishprince76 87 points88 points ago

Reddit has ruined me. You see a beautiful instance of nature taking it's course, reclaiming what is hers. I see a goatse. Sigh...

[–]SollyBoy 10 points11 points ago

goddamn goatse... i blame my friends.

[–]JBOSS_08 1 point2 points ago

What the hell is goatse?

[–]sinbeHappy trees 12 points13 points ago

It's a picture of a man stretching a rainbow wide across the big blue sky revealing all the color, texture and the beauty of a rainbow.

I want to believe

[–]HoochCow 1 point2 points ago

explain tubgirl next

[–]Zovistograt 2 points3 points ago

If goatse is stretching the rainbow, tubgirl is the genesis.

[–]BigPharmaSucks 1 point2 points ago

Hi, welcome to the interwebs. You must be new.

[–]SelcouthBadger 8 points9 points ago

Why does it make him an asshole though?...

Serious question, not trying to start an argument.

[–]marty86morgan 6 points7 points ago

Because he is claiming ownership over something that in this romantic scenario belongs to everyone.

[–]SelcouthBadger 2 points3 points ago

Well, judging by this picture. That sign has been there for ages. Whoever owned that land owned it a long time ago, most likely before anybody else would have found it anyways.

Besides, if he's just trying to claim legal protection, more power to him.

[–]drunkrabbit22 2 points3 points ago

You think no one had discovered that land by 30 years ago?

[–]SelcouthBadger -1 points0 points ago

I don't understand where the argument is coming from, if he legally owns that land then he can put on it whatever he wants.

[–]BoringUsername1Space is deep 1 point2 points ago

I guess it comes down to, why does legality matter? It's just some people who said things will be one way. This land, that tree was there long before anyone 'legally owned' that land. What does a piece of paper saying the man owns the land mean to the tree? Nothing, and that sign meant nothing either.

[–]SelcouthBadger -3 points-2 points ago

I'm not saying I agree with it, I'm just saying that technically he owns the land and nobody can be on it.

[–]BoringUsername1Space is deep 3 points4 points ago

I think you're just missing the point here. I'm not going to bother taking this any further.

[–]drunkrabbit22 1 point2 points ago

I have no fault with your point, only your argument.

[–]urumbudgi 1 point2 points ago

I'd guess Du Pont de Namur owned it

[–]shadymcnugget 1 point2 points ago

DuPont Nemours childrens hospital.

[–]LookLikeJesusLiving life in peace 13 points14 points ago

This concept is basically the romantic movement. Good stuff.

[–]chargerz4lifeSpace is deep 10 points11 points ago

I think of it as... humans are invading and destroying nature, so nature is fighting back by destroying man made things.

[–]l34512ALL HAIL 1 point2 points ago

Although it might actually be fighting back by displaying goatse to all the passerby.

[–]CarbonGod 1 point2 points ago

Except the du Ponts...they own everything around here.

[–]fiercelyfriendly 3 points4 points ago

Including this sign: "Du Pont de Nemours." But the tree is swallowing the evidence.

[–]EvelynGarnet 12 points13 points ago

In a few more years, someone's going to have no idea why they were prosecuted/shot without question.

[–]nichhk 24 points25 points ago

the irony is that the sign is trespassing nature, man!

[–]moukou9 2 points3 points ago

It's an anarchist!

[–]CarbonGod 6 points7 points ago

Huh, you live here too? http://imgur.com/USY8I

[–]ShutDownSchinDig 2 points3 points ago

Where is this? I think I may live there too.

[–]CarbonGod 3 points4 points ago

White Clay Creek park. I BELIEVE this sign is on the west bank path between Hopkins and Wedgewood. I took my photo in 2009, so it's been awhile.

[–]ShutDownSchinDig 2 points3 points ago

then i have not seen it. There is one like it in a park near my home in Ohio.

[–]CarbonGod 1 point2 points ago

The bottom of the sign is "signed" "du Pont de Nemours". du Pont (or however you want to capitalize it, the family changes it in each branch), owns/ed a lot of land in northern Delaware and lower PA. Many parks are formally du Pont estates. Not sure if they have any street cred up in Ohio though. I wouldn't doubt it.

[–]Brioux 2 points3 points ago

Came here to say this, hello fellow White Clay Creek goer!

[–]SIX_FOOT_FO 2 points3 points ago

DELAWARE, MOTHERFUCKER.

[–]CarbonGod 0 points1 point ago

Damn right.

[–]chosephicus 10 points11 points ago

Looks like a butthole to me.

[–]MadRain 5 points6 points ago

Wonder how it will look in "x" amount of years (hopefully a very long time) when someone cuts it down....be a pretty interesting cross section if they happened to cut right where the sign was "consumed".

[–]gaseousshroud 3 points4 points ago

It looks so similar to a open wound healing over itself

[–]tekkenjam 1 point2 points ago

This makes me think of that George Carlin bid about saving the planet and the the thought that plastic is somehow going to harm the planet when in reality is just going to be the earth and plastic. hard to explain what i mean but yeah this pic reminded me of that.

[–]SoundSalad 1 point2 points ago

How long does this take?

[–]EnkiduEnkitaJenkem connoiseur 1 point2 points ago

Probably depends on the speed at which a given species of tree grows in circumference. I am guessing somewhere in the neighborhood of 10-30 years, depending.

[–]lwbii00 7 points8 points ago

No one's added goatse yet? Surprising.

[–]skyysdalmt 0 points1 point ago

Came and wasn't disappointed.

[–]MediocreMuffinsNyanyanyana 0 points1 point ago

...goatse.cx

[–]Brosepher 2 points3 points ago

"Prosecute this"- Tree

[–]iluvjewsnblacksJenkem connoiseur 0 points1 point ago

I see it as a slow consumption of abnormal for the preservation of the natural state of things. Think of it as a time lapse over years and years- slowly creeping the entire way ove the sign until all that remains is an ordinary knot.

[–]Sockpockets 0 points1 point ago

Imagine what happens when someone tries to cut it down "why the hell does this tree have armor?"

[–]mysockpuppetfortrees 1 point2 points ago

Try posting in /r/marijuanaenthusiasts

[–]iHuglittlegirls 0 points1 point ago

Or pooping out a sign?

[–]WhipIash 0 points1 point ago

Am I the only one bothered by this? Kind of like trypophobia, I guess.

[–]Giant-Midget 1 point2 points ago

No, you're not. Shit creeps me out for some reason.

[–]eric0rr -1 points0 points ago

I posted this in /r/photoshopbattles once.

Ended with goatse...

[–]mobius_racetrack 0 points1 point ago

hm'mmm...mmm....iron. Tasty.

[–]airpressure 0 points1 point ago

Or shitting one out.

[–]dr_shamus 0 points1 point ago

I think it's hilarious that its a no trespassing sign and the hole looks like an anus

[–]BlackPride 0 points1 point ago

This kind of thing grosses me out sometimes.

[–]Noerdy 0 points1 point ago

It wants you to pass.

[–]sexyhamster89 -1 points0 points ago

fucking goatsee... cannot unsee

[–]digger64 0 points1 point ago

Nobody is thinking Winnie-the-Pooh and the Trespassers will sign? Surprisingly cozy, happy feeling from this pic. Nice :-)

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

I'm sure I'm not the only one who sees this goatsee tree...

[–]Baublehead 0 points1 point ago

I bet the person who cuts down that tree in the future is going to be scared shitless for a few reasons.

[–]mktrng 0 points1 point ago

I can't see this picture without the goatse hands

[–]CarelessCogitation 1 point2 points ago

"...none were more dangerous than the Great Willow; his heart was rotten, but his strength was green; and he was cunning, and a master of winds, and his song and thought ran through the woods on both sides of the river."

[–]Tracenstien -1 points0 points ago

poor tree man, how would you like it someone carved into you.

[–]marty86morgan 0 points1 point ago

some people pay good money for exactly that.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

Trees don't feel pain. People who cut them for no reason are still assholes though.
