Nature will always find a way to survive but we are destroying our selves. That is why nature is smiling knowing that what ever we do it will eventually fix. That is what I think it is going for I don't know for sure I am pretty high

I think maybe it shows the hand is from Hell and the gun has lips representing a kiss of death. That is how i interpreted it. Nature will always prevail. Such a beautiful piece of art.

First let me start by saying I'm an environmentalist and a feminist (also a male). I have a squabble over using the phrase "mother nature", as it implies that nature is inherently feminine, and maybe nurturing. But if we are to ever get past this disconnect between humans and the natural world, we must remove this stigma that nature is feminine and industry is masculine and realize that every-single one of us is a product of nature. We ARE nature.

Well in most species the female is the nurturing one so I think that is why we call it mother nature. I don't find it sexist, Yea men and women should be equal but that doesn't mean habitually the genders don't act different. Nature is beautiful, nurturing and gives life. I think those are more characteristics of a woman than a man.

Theres a whole group of art major types that have a blood grudge against pieces with this theme. I'm sure they're right, so I will agree with them and join in their elitism. God, it feels good. It's strange that the artist used a Nagant revolver as the gun model. It's from the 1800's, but has late-1900's skyscrapers sitting on it. I think they should have gone with a 20th-century American sidearm, like an M92 or a Hi Power.

We have an impact on the earth and it's life, we fuck with them massively every day. Trying to reverse at least some of that immense fuckery is hardly pompous or a bad thing.

In my opinion this is a bad art piece. It beats you over the head with an incredibly obvious message. Great art has some degree of subtlty, this has none. May as well spell the message out in text. It reminds me of that terribly hokey image of peace loving hippy protesters about to cut off the bridge that the evil industrial police are crossing. It's just such stereotypical symbolism that it's boring.
