[–]outrageously-happy 1920 points1921 points ago

you can tell they did it on purpose. the discomfort that you feel right now is monks whole life

[–]Darkersun 259 points260 points ago

The thought that the producers of the show are getting one last smirk out of the DVD design is much better thought than thinking some guy in the design department, who had one job, did it incorrectly.

[–]maquinazero 29 points30 points ago

Isn't that a German edition? No way anyone directly related to producing the show was involved, unless the American edition is the same.

[–]WaywardWayfarer 93 points94 points ago

My US boxes of all 8 seasons aren't like the OP's, they all are uniform.

[–]maquinazero 8 points9 points ago

Eight seasons, you say? Now I need to see the eighth box for the German edition! Maybe they go back to the previous scheme.

[–]WaywardWayfarer 4 points5 points ago

Yeah, but the main reason I'd replied was that the US collection doesn't do that in the 8th or 7th season, I think it's just the German or international version.

[–]mobile_gaymer 2 points3 points ago

It is definitely German.

Source: I am German google-translated "Staffel".

[–]SukonMatic 182 points183 points ago

Guess his OCD got better in the last season

[–]GotASpooon 96 points97 points ago

There were a few episodes where he showed improvement in his OCD, but overall it seemed very much the same.

[–]Chubbstock 76 points77 points ago

Which is why I loved the ending. I would have been pissed if he was suddenly "better"

[–]7Slums 16 points17 points ago

I loved the show but the ending was trash. They clearly did not have a conclusion in mind when developing the series.

[–]Ausrufepunkt 72 points73 points ago

I think this is what kills most tv shows for me...
It just doesn't feel right in the end.
Look at the wire...it was a complete experience where it was clear what Simon had in mind.
Something like Dexter on the other hand...
Idk it just feels like "Oh we got renewed, let's just try hard to get a new story going"

[–]IndecisionToCallYou 12 points13 points ago

You'd love Babylon 5. It's shocking how well planned it is.

Not the very last season though, that's just tacked on.

[–]IamtoocynicalforTHIS 1 point2 points ago

First of all, I'm a huge nerdy fan of Babylon 5. What I like most though is the idea of the show. I can accept the atrocious CGI, but if I would use one word to describe the show it would be forced. Still I hugely enjoy it, flaws and all.

[–]ramp_tram 25 points26 points ago

When you look at when it's from the CGI isn't that bad.

Edit: haha, I must have pissed somebody off. All my posts are now instantly getting a downvote. Keep it up, horse fucker.

[–]mr_luc 7 points8 points ago

Okay, first, I know just what you mean, I got addicted to B5 when I was 15 and I've rewatched the whole series a couple of times.

And it's still the most amazing writing accomplishment in television history, period. Straczynski wrote >95% of the episodes, in addition to being show runner ... it boggles the mind.

And the story is amazingly ambitious - created a whole world, and series of worlds, and then build a story of such a scale as to be un-toppable.

So, it's amazing.

But if anyone starts watching B5, just know -- it will test every notion you have of what you will put up with in terms of production value, hokey 50's-style monologues, special effects, makeup, set design, etc.

If you can put all of that away, to the side, massively suspend disbelief, B5 will reward that like no other show I know of.

But you just can't say 'oh, your show is crap? watch b5 bro' -- my God, man!

[–]kumquatqueen 2 points3 points ago

Which sucks, because it should have been 5 great seasons. Then they found out they were going to be cancelled and changed season four to wrap up everything. Then after that, found out they were not cancelled, but renewed and had to make some shit up.

[–]KitsuneRommel 6 points7 points ago

The best part about series with a clearly defined story arc is that they end well. The worst part is that they end.

[–]Conradfr 18 points19 points ago

Breaking Bad did a good job when they get surprised to go past season 1, but you still got that lousy part with the plane.

Lost on the other hand ...

edit: sorry about "lousy", English is not my native language, maybe "sloppy" would be better.

And I stopped Lost at S3, I get it improves after that. It's still one of the few shows I stopped watching.

[–]Hajile_S 52 points53 points ago

Lousy part with the plane?

[–]4rch 3 points4 points ago

Spoilers. But LOUSY?

[–]seafoodgar 6 points7 points ago

I thought it was lousy that the built it up at the beginning of every episode, then it turned out to be just some indirectly related incident. I think I would have been more fine with it if they didn't build it up so much.

[–]bigkerplunk 6 points7 points ago

I was so worried at the end of season 2 with the airplane.
"Oh god please don't let this show turn into Lost-ish convoluted karmic justice bullshit."

[–]therealflinchy 26 points27 points ago

lost you can tell the writers got so far tangled up, they never planned to reveal anything.. oh.. shit.. well.. 'the island is god' DONE.

[–][deleted] ago

[deleted]

[–]uberduger 7 points8 points ago

Screw that writers' strike. It killed Reaper and damaged Heroes irreparably.

The only good to come out of it for me was that Journeyman kept going for one complete awesome season.

[–]Rymes 3 points4 points ago

Please continue re: Lost...

[–]ramp_tram 5 points6 points ago

Lost was bad? They said they had planned 5-6 seasons, and everything would be explained.

Nothing was explained, and after the second season they started admitting that they had nothing planned and were making it up as they went along without any kind of endgame.

[–]moviemaniac226 10 points11 points ago

They were making it up through season three because ABC wouldn't agree to give a time frame for the show's conclusion. Lost was a heavily serialized show with a beginning, middle, and end. If you're writing a show but don't know when the end is going to be, you have to write the middle indefinitely.

After season three ended, the writers negotiated with ABC to end it at six seasons, and that's why seasons 4-6 pick up so drastically. And they're much more tightly woven too, such as with the whole Oceanic 6 storyline.

I'd like to know what you think wasn't explained though. I really think the only two major mysteries they left open were Walt's powers and the cause of the island's fertility problems. Most everything else can be explained when you put some thought into it.

[–]Rymes 1 point2 points ago

Well that is definitely how I feel, but the parent comment is vague. There are so many people who cling to the idea that Lost was amazing. The ending made me angry, and I hate Lost to this day because of the fact that they were flying by the seat of their pants. What a wasted opportunity.

[–]BDS_UHS 2 points3 points ago

They said they had planned 5-6 seasons, and everything would be explained.

Can you find a quote from someone in the writers' room in which they said everything would be explained? Because I can find several where they actually said the opposite. Explaining every mystery is bad writing.

[–]Ausrufepunkt 6 points7 points ago

Yea you can see that Breaking Bad doesnt have the best writing sometimes...but I think it makes up for that with the incredible cinematography and the suspense (seriously some of these episodes are just masterpieces)

[–]guustavooo 28 points29 points ago

The Fly episode, on the other hand...

[–]da_choppa 8 points9 points ago

I'll just leave this here...

[–]meshugga 22 points23 points ago

Best bottle episode ever.

[–]Ausrufepunkt 2 points3 points ago

Yea thats one of my least favorite episodes...at least it got kinda thrilling when Jesse went up the ladder etc.

Just noticed the episode was directed by Rian Johnson the director of Looper :)

[–]drivers9001 2 points3 points ago

I thought it was pointless at first, but it actually serves as character development which came into play later. Potential spoiler ahead. Jesse learns a lot about cleanliness which comes in handy in Mexico.

[–]WhatDoesN00bMean 2 points3 points ago

FUCK that fly episode.

[–]GirlyWhirl 2 points3 points ago

Some series/television shows just go on entirely too long and I think they don't have an ending in mind earlier on. They just want to make money for as long as possible. I think overall the Brits are better at this, and their series tend to be shorter.

[–]NotSafeForShop 1 point2 points ago

Most shows don't. Especially police procedurals. They create a central character (or two) with marketable quirk, trump up a backstory, and give them a few additional partners to play off of. Then, they ride it as long as they can until the gimmick grows a bit stale, they run out of ideas, the ratings drop, or the cast becomes too expensive.

The Mentalist, Bones, The Finder, White Collar, Monk, Cold Case, Numbers, Luther...

[–]JewBoySandler 517 points518 points ago

Wow... That sucks.

[–]Stoppit_TidyUp 180 points181 points ago

It's simple - he's not married.

Or maybe he is.

We need to ask to find out.

He's Schrödinger's Jew.

[–]DeVilleBT 39 points40 points ago

You know, considering that in the original example deadly gas is involved, schrödinger's Jew might be a bit inappropriate.

[–]Stoppit_TidyUp 12 points13 points ago

Inappropriate, but all the more topical.

They also should have used the red text on white background to fuck you up even more.

[–]meisenmann23 193 points194 points ago

Actually there are 8 seasons.

[–]jefuchs 319 points320 points ago

There were only 7 when this pic was first posted on Reddit.

I wonder what the box for the 8th season looks like...

[–]DiabloConQueso 35 points36 points ago

A CD jewel case.

[–]LeonProfessional -4 points-3 points ago

Could be that they combined 2 seasons into 1 DVD set. "Staffel" could mean "series", not necessarily "season". Just a guess.

[–]30cities30shooters 92 points93 points ago

Not a good guess.

[–]JewBoySandler 6 points7 points ago

Just give him a golden star for effort, he'll have no idea what hit him.

[–]Stygeros 28 points29 points ago

Speaking of a golden star for effort, JewBoy...

[–]Gollem265 5 points6 points ago

Not again...

[–]neo7 6 points7 points ago

Nope. Staffel (which is german) means season.. and if anything it will be mentioned if there are two or more seasons combined in one.

But good guess anyways..

[–]LeonProfessional 1 point2 points ago

Yeah, I was thinking of other shows, like Family Guy, they included seasons 1 and 2 together on the first DVD set. I tried looking up the definition of "staffel" on my phone. Came up with both "season" and "series". But I now remember that a lot of shows (like Family Guy) would name it "Volume 1" instead of "season" or "series", so I goofed on the terminology.

[–]Keksus_ 4 points5 points ago

No. "Staffel" means "season". "Series" is "Serie" in German.

[–]yesandno23 492 points493 points ago

Bahahah I'm going to take a wild guess and say it's symbolic of him overcoming his ocd. It's a great show by the way.

[–]thelovepirate 151 points152 points ago

I loved it when it started, but I gave up around season four. I cant believe they dragged it out for seven seasons.

[–]traumalt 161 points162 points ago

this show has 8 seasons.

[–]TeddyHawkshire 33 points34 points ago

They should probably round it up to 10 seasons. We'll thank them later.

[–]handmethatkitten 10 points11 points ago

but eight is an even number, and symmetrical.

[–]royisabau5 8 points9 points ago

Also, a perfect cube, and both half and twice of a perfect square.

[–]paholg 2 points3 points ago

All powers of two are either perfect squares or half and twice perfect squares.

[–]Mr_A 58 points59 points ago

[–]Ryanair 97 points98 points ago

Nope. He got the daughter of his deceased wife and got a little bit easier to handle. But he didn't overcome it.

[–]SirSandGoblin 122 points123 points ago

sadly, learning to deal with and live with mental illness is the closest many ever get to "overcoming" such illness

[–]STRAIGHTUPGANGS 59 points60 points ago

This is true, I have OCD as well. Its not as bad as it once was but I still find myself having to stack things in 4's, tapping on things and still counting to 4 all the goddamn time.

[–]WhiskeySeven 298 points299 points ago

Oh man those are the 4 worst things about OCD

  1. The stacking, or fiddling
  2. The tapping, scratching or otherwise picking
  3. Having to count to that number all the time

[–]breeks 79 points80 points ago

You cruel, cruel bastard. Haha.

[–]OpticalData 6 points7 points ago

[–]lightshatter 2 points3 points ago

My mom doesn't have OCD, but she intentionally gave all 4 of her kids names in which the total number of letters is divisible by 3. She and my dad got married at 3:30 pm on 9/3/83 (9 is 3 squared, of course). She really, really likes threes.

I'm pretty sure she intended to have just 3 kids, too, but...oops.

[–]wintergt 13 points14 points ago

Maybe she's going for 9 kids.

[–]newskul 39 points40 points ago

Bro, do you even math?

[–]Alacritous 35 points36 points ago

He does. Absolutely.

[–]omgsus 4 points5 points ago

I see your fear that no one would get just "Absolutely.", but I understand why... even still... quite an under-appreciated response to the thread. Bravo.

[–]grimman 28 points29 points ago

Is that why you divided your reply into four parts using dots and commas? Sneaky sneaky.

[–]holythunderz 9 points10 points ago

When I was a kid I couldn't take uneven numbers. Everything I did I did 2 or 4. Like, if I jumped off something once I had to do it at least twice. I somehow overcame it, and now I don't even think I have OCD. I mean, I do like everything neat and aligned, but I don't mind if they're not.

[–][deleted] ago

[–]fawshaw 14 points15 points ago

There's a lot of types of OCD. Some have rituals to 'please' something (to avoid bad luck, deaths/sickness of people close to them or themselves, etc), some people just do it with no real intention other then having the right feeling about it. Some people avoid lines on the ground, some people have to do things in a certain order, some people have to repeat stuff an x amount of times. It's a very hard thing to break out of - for some people it's hard because they think people will die if they stop doing it, for other people it's just hard because their OCD is like a reflex (when they see a word they just automaticly count how many letters it has for example). I've seen people who had to open and close a watertap 23 times and when they lost count they had to do it at least 10 times over (230 times total). OCD can really ruin lives since it takes a lot of time, but also a lot of energy. It's hard to keep a job when you are tired and also have to perform rituals every time you do something.

Source: I'm not a psychologist, but i've had clinical therapy for about 6 months with a group mixed with OCD people and people with anxiety/panic dissorders. They stimulated us to be therapists for our peers, so I've learned a lot about OCD and anxiety.

[–]spicewoman 1 point2 points ago

I wonder if this is a common thing w/ OCD? Can any psychologists chime in?

Not a psychologist, and haven't studied OCD in particular much, but I would be surprised if this doesn't occur in a decent percentage of OCD sufferers to some degree. People like to make sense of things, we're constantly making up stories and explanations even for the things we're not sure why we did in the first place. "Why did I do that? Well, maybe because Y. That makes sense to me, therefore I will now accept that possible explanation as fact."

Strong compulsive impulses to do things we can't see a reason for is distressing to people. You'll naturally want to make sense of it, and for some people, a connecting kind of superstition or story emerges to give their actions meaning. You could know you have something called "OCD," but it still might not feel right as a complete explanation, because your feelings and impulses are so powerful to you. And it's a lot easier to deal with feeling trapped into doing the same thing over and over again if it's secretly accomplishing some magical thing, rather than nothing at all.

[–]Ol_Lefteye 12 points13 points ago

What's even harder is dealing with people who legitimately expect that you can just "overcome" a mental illness, as if it were a cold or bad habit.

[–]pastelcoloredpig 11 points12 points ago

I don't have OCD, I have bipolar disorder and depression. The worst was when this girl told me to "go take a walk in the park!" right before I broke down. Some people just don't get it.

[–]supermodel_alleycat 6 points7 points ago

I have suffered from depression off and on for the past 10 years. If I had a dime for every time someone told me "go for a walk!" or "have a nice bike ride!", I'd be rolling in dough. People just don't get it!

Plot twist: they probably just think I need to lose weight

[–]KazamaSmokers 4 points5 points ago

Well... physical exertion does help an incredible amout.

Also, salt air does wonders for depression, in my experience.

[–]supermodel_alleycat 4 points5 points ago

... Then you join the ranks of those that don't understand.

Exercise helps with mild to moderate depression. Crippling, can't-get-out-of-bed depression?? Not a chance. It may get you out of bed for however long you're exercising (if you can muster the desire) but then you're just right back to that dark pit of despair.

[–]butrosbutrosfunky 6 points7 points ago

Who would down vote this person? From experience, they are exactly right. Severe, treatment-resistant depression doesn't give a fuck about your exercise. Or CBT, or drugs for that matter. When you are seriously being advised to attempt electroshock therapy as a last ditch effort, come back and lecture others on going for a fucking jog.

[–]Mr_A 5 points6 points ago

Yeah, I wonder what the other side looks like.

[–]xcadrill 7 points8 points ago

Also Season 1 is the only one with Universal at the bottom instead of DVD like the others

[–]dumbfounddead 25 points26 points ago

That's because it's backwards.

[–]hender24 30 points31 points ago

At least the box isn't white

[–]91Caleb 16 points17 points ago

i'm equally concerned with the design of the first season box vs the others

[–]SeanLOSL 2 points3 points ago

Someone mentioned it's backwards… other side, including the 'DVD' logo on the bottom might match 'em up.

[–]Dat_Gentleman 3 points4 points ago

To be fair, as a guy with OCD the fact that they don't start putting the DVD symbol until Season 2 already ruins it for me.

[–]falafelator 18 points19 points ago

I have OCD and while I guess this is funny, it really misrepresents the sheer horror of the disease and reading some of these comments makes me cringe. People confuse OCD with OCPD and think OCD is just having to have everything in order ("OMG I like organizing my room, I must have OCD LOL"). In fact the vast majority of OCD has nothing to do with ordering things. It is a truly life-destroying disorder where you have horrifying anxiety-inducing intrusive thoughts that can only be temporarily reduced by compulsive behaviour (the exact form of the thoughts/behaviours can be nearly anything). The thought process is more like "I have this horrifying fear that my family is going to die of disease that I infect them with if I don't wash my hands one more time. I know that doesn't make sense but there is nothing I can do about it, the fear is so strong. If I wash my hands just one more time I'll be clean and feel better...briefly...(repeat ad infinitum)". OCD is so awful that the suicide rates are much higher for sufferers (I think something like 10% kill themselves if I remember correctly).

TLDR: I have OCD. Most OCD is not being a neat freak. It is truly awful and can be debilitating, and I hope people realize it is at least as serious as depression or other illnesses.

Edit: As pointed out below, the compulsive "behaviour" can just be internal (reassuring thoughts) as well

[–]MelissaLissa 4 points5 points ago

Well, writers tend to forget about including obsessive thoughts, which leads to the misperceptions.

I personally have way more obsessive thoughts than compulsions. My worst is that I constantly have obsessive thoughts of hurting or killing myself. All the time. Good days and bad. I could be watching a TV show or taking a walking. Doesn't matter and usually just happens like a reflex. I don't actually want to do either one. But the thoughts can be so painful and graphic. Thankfully, they've only lead to me hurting myself once to the point where I needed to be hospitalized. And that was before I knew I had the disorder. Now, that I know I don't actually want to kill myself. It helps. Doesn't make them any less terrible.

I'm not surprised about the suicide rate though. Sorry, you have to go through the disorder as well.

[–]Cranes 2 points3 points ago

I've got Pure-O and I know exactly what you're talking about. Though I always thought of the compulsions as being more mentally-based (for example, telling yourself that something's not "real" or "true" to feel better).

Anyways, good luck to the both of you.

[–]falafelator 2 points3 points ago

Yes for Pure-O forms of OCD the compulsions are internal (unlike what I have): usually excessive rumination and attempts at self-reassurance (and the counterintuitive trick to improving is to stop doing trying to make yourself feel better with self-reassurance). Anyway, good luck!

TIL People don't know what OCD is.

[–]PaulMcGannsShoes 9 points10 points ago

I'd like to hear someone actually with OCD to ask if things like this actually do bother them.

[–]TheLordB 39 points40 points ago

Real OCD has a wide variety of triggers for people. I'm sure there are some who it would and some who it wouldn't.

[–]Chewzer 2 points3 points ago

Something like this doesn't bother me too much. What gets to me is uneven stairs. I hate if they're long and I have to step on each step twice and I hate having an odd number of steps in a set.

[–]Cainedbutable 2 points3 points ago

You'd hate the UK. Pretty much every house has 13 stairs between floors.

[–]MelissaLissa 19 points20 points ago

As someone who has diagnosed OCD, no, the whole boxes thing doesn't bother me at all. Monk, the show itself, bothers me because of how it sometimes represents OCD.

I'm not super organized like Monk. If anything, my OCD makes my organizational skills worse. For example, I have a very hard time doing laundry, because I have contamination issues regarding the detergent. Logically, I know the detergent is just soap, but the thought that it might poison me still keeps repeating anyway. When I finally manage to put up a laundry, I immediately have to go scrub my hands raw (ironically, also using soap...but this soap is okay) under the sink. Even wearing gloves doesn't help. Afterwards, I still have the compulsion to wash my hands.

Also, OCD definitely does not make a person super observant. It's not a helpful disorder. If anything, it distorts your image of yourself and the world around you; like I always have to ask people if they're mad at me, because my stupid OCD will often repeat that thought (Monk also often neglected obsessive thoughts, which are almost always much worse than the compulsions). So I don't think that sort of mentality would make me a helpful person for deducing a murderer. Plus, even if I did, my OCD would always make me doubt my conclusion.

[–]AsAChemicalEngineer 11 points12 points ago

I am not well versed in mental illness, but I'll try to respond to this.

Monk's a great detective despite his illness, not because of them. The show does go over many times that even when he had his problems properly managed and controlled (When he was with Trudy.) he was still an amazing detective. His disorder's drastically worsened after his wife's death, his observational skills remained unchanged.

Also I'm under the impression that OCD is a very diverse illness. Even from reading threads like these where many of the commenters are stating, "Well my diagnosed OCD has these traits..." Therefore it's not surprising you're difficulties with it differ from the fictional Monk or real people posting here with OCD.

Now if Monk was given traits that nobody with OCD or other related illnesses had, then I feel your criticism is completely valid, but I do not know enough to answer this.

OCD is slightly different for everyone. It doesn't bother me overly much (although it's certainly annoying, it's more in a /r/mildlyinfuriating way than an actual trigger), but it certainly would set a few people off. If it came down to having an unmatched set or not having the whole set, I'd choose the latter. At least, I think I would. Great, now you've got me stuck worrying about it.

As a child I always thought it was a game I played when I tried to always step directly on tiles and avoid the grouting inbetween - or having everything straight on my desk.

Many years and twisted ankles later, I still find myself trying to adjust my walking rhythm in malls etc. to step onto tiles directly. Even stepping off an escalator, I have to step on a clean tile.

It really isn't fun, but it did help me when doing lighting designs at my old job. Making sure everything is 100% symmetrical.

Oh so you're the guy who bought the monk DVDs.

[–]jtc11492 2 points3 points ago

Considering one of his compulsions involved nice round numbers, I was shocked to find it didn't make it to ten seasons...

[–]Borrybay 2 points3 points ago

Season 6 Monk knows what's up.

You had one job!

How is it that new material is instantly downvoted on reddit, but an old repost shoots to the top?

[–]KayBeeToys 2 points3 points ago

That's the joke.

[–]tronn4 2 points3 points ago

So brave to repost

[–]tantouz 3 points4 points ago

Is that vhs?

[–]ps_ 3 points4 points ago

i'm sitting across from all 8 seasons on my desk, and for the american releases, they all have the same orientation.

Dear mother of God

[–]zeCrazyEye 3 points4 points ago

Just the alternating red/white colors is more annoying than the reversed portrait placement. I want to smash those fucking things for being so obnoxiously colored.

[–]Bloodleaf 4 points5 points ago

An acquaintance of mine with OCD hates this show with a burning passion. Apparently to her this show exacerbates a growing problem where OCD is treated as something fun and quirky.

When in reality it is miserable, crippling and should not to been seen as a positive in any effect.

[–]I_Survived_12212012 2 points3 points ago

That's sadistic.

[–]chrisda 0 points1 point ago

Oh shit. I reared back...did not know why, went in to investigate and saw it. Scrunched up my shoulders, squinted my eyes and muttered, "man somebody's gotta fix that shit.". I think I just self diagnosed too.

[–]Justenzy 0 points1 point ago

/r/monk for all the fans.

[–]Coolbreezy -1 points0 points ago

Just to fuck you up.

[–]ChrisKerrigan 1 point2 points ago

This is sort of brilliant in a weird way. But it's driving me nuts.

[–]widdershins13 -1 points0 points ago

What has been seen cannot be unseen.

[–]Skelehawk 1 point2 points ago

That isn't the last season...

[–]gurugurug 0 points1 point ago

the image itself is painful. ionno if i could suffer through owning it...

You can see how annoyed he is about it on the sixth picture!

[–]Jejoisland -1 points0 points ago

Scheiss Deutsche! lol

[–]that_taco_guy -1 points0 points ago

cringe

[–]guyonthissite 1 point2 points ago

There were 8 seasons.

[–]Lord_of_Potatoes -1 points0 points ago

Detective with OCD, I haven't watched the show, but what comes to mind is Poirot, the belgian detective.

[–]logblobo -1 points0 points ago

Imagine if season 7 was white.

[–]Cyclone-Bill 0 points1 point ago

I don't think this is legit. I saw all the seasons sitting on a shelf in HMV the other day and they all lined up perfectly.

[–]winediva 0 points1 point ago

Even before the last season set there's problems because the word "Monk" is not aligned with season 1 on the rest of the seasons. That was the first thing I noticed.

[–]silentkill144 -1 points0 points ago

Thats awesome. Monk was an amazing show. It sucks that its over.

[–]iggzy 0 points1 point ago

I thought that he, at least in the last few seasons, was progressively getting better. The boxes kind of reflect that, look at his portraits, slowly but surely less perturbed and neurotic and in the last one it's pretty normal

[–]Indetermination 1 point2 points ago

A truly truly terrible show.

[–]Half-Jackel 0 points1 point ago

genius

[–]Steffi2102 0 points1 point ago

I find that typical for Germany -.-

[–]hazenstreet 0 points1 point ago

They do this for everything on purpose so if you have ocd, you'll buy the collectors edition. Cheap business strategy 101

[–]discospider_ 0 points1 point ago

Ain't gonna happen in my house.

Did anyone else think they were looking at VHS tapes?

That's a brilliant middle finger there. That box would drive me INSANE on my shelf.

I had the Star Wars remaster box set (not the special editions, but the '95 reissues) on VHS, I was fanatic about them having to be oriented properly in the box, in order, always facing the same direction. I was simultaneously annoyed and pleased that the "Return of The Jedi" logo had been altered - it wasn't the way it had been theatrically, but had been changed to match the style of the "Star Wars" and "Empire Strikes Back" logos. Aesthetically, it made the box set more attractive, but I still knew it was wrong. If they were going that far, then they should have crafted a similar logo for the words "A New Hope", so that all three movies would go by their subtitiles instead of the first one being called "STAR WARS A New Hope " Then the other two being "THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK Star Wars " and "RETURN OF THE JEDI Star Wars "

It's so frustrating being a perfectionist. I haven't recorded a song in ten years.
