One of my coworkers at my first job told me he was once in the navy and had been a crewmen on a submarine. He told me this story once... His sub was doing its sub thing in the 80s (before cold war end) in the artic under the ice. They were crusin along and decided to come through the ice and do their weekly report or something and let the men stretch their legs on the ice, maybe play soccer/football or something. So they break through the ice and it turns out, about 50 yards away there was a Russian sub doing the exact same thing. Did they stare eachother down and point guns and get all rowdy? Nah, they played a Russian sub crew vs American sub crew soccer, using the subs as the goals (the russians won).
