Wow, what sort of an idiot would fall for this, seriously? If you really want to know whether your card has been stolen, PM your details to me :-)

[–]claytorENT 46 points47 points ago

[–]pao_revolt 21 points22 points ago

[–]RJ815 25 points26 points ago

You know, if it just links to a page saying yes, technically it's truth in advertising.

[–]deejaymikeyg 2 points3 points ago

Yes it has! Write us a quick check for $63.72 and we'll take care of that problem for you

[–]TheMightyMush 13 points14 points ago

For some reason, when people enter their info, the answer is always yes. Strange.

Note: previous posts were in /r/funny... where the OP belongs.

[–]Gramma42ton 8 points9 points ago

4chan would say OP belongs back on the porn set getting his ass pounded, but I guess that's fair too.

[–]Jonny_Watts 1 point2 points ago

Actually the OP belongs in hell

[–]claytonccollins 1 point2 points ago

I HADN'T SEEN IT OK ITS STILL FUNNY. Enough of your electronic-passive-aggressive-sassy-bullshit.

[–]Baller-Annie -1 points0 points ago

i really hate stuff like this. its using old posts to stop people from getting karma. all while getting karma. so what if its a repost? i didn't see it then.

it just bothers me when people up vote this crap in the name of justice reediting. i don't know, i assume I'm alone or I'm making no sense. its late.

[–]pylon567 0 points1 point ago

You're not. People getting their underwear in a bunch because someone reposted something irritates me too.

Unfortunately, we aren't all neckbeards that have seen the entirety of reddit.

[–]Lillipout 9 points10 points ago

I think I first saw that on SomethingAwful circa 2000 in a photoshop fake banner ads thread.

IIRC, "Centipedes in my vagina?" came out of that thread, too.

[–]theslip74 1 point2 points ago

Oh man, SA really was the funniest site on the internet back then. I still use JeffK as my name in MMO's.

Centipedes? In MY vagina?

[–]PoliticallyConcerned 21 points22 points ago

So we've descended to posting scam ads that we see on the internet?

[–]jaybird13 16 points17 points ago

I thought this was funny. I actually "heh'd" I was going to be a little scolding for being upset with this. Then I realized I was in r/wtf, not r/funny.

You have some ground to stand on. Sorry for having scolding thoughts, earlier.

[–]Gorillaz_Noodle 4 points5 points ago

/r/Im14andthisisWTF

Seriously, if anyone here thinks this shit if WTF then I applaud you for spending your first day on the fucking internet. Fuck you people who upvoted this shit. This is not /r/funny, /r/Im14andthisisWTF, or /r/OPisafuckingfaggot.

This is the bullshit that ruins a good website. Just don't come and bring your bullshit into the smaller subs.

[–]imbutawaveto 0 points1 point ago

i dont get why people feel the need to tell others that they've unsubscribed. no one gives a fuck.

[–]guustavooo 1 point2 points ago

I do. I'm unsubscribing too since /u/PoliticallyConcerned did.

[–]Hypobasis 2 points3 points ago

This is the fucking oldest fucking shit on the internet. This subreddit is fucking dead.

[–]sixth_motors 3 points4 points ago

I could easily see my Grandmother falling for this.

[–]Spidersatan 1 point2 points ago

My grandma did fall for one of these. She thought she was getting a stove.

[–]Jonny_Watts 5 points6 points ago

[–]snaill 0 points1 point ago

oh man i gotta check mine! can you link it??

[–]RealTalkWithDogic 1 point2 points ago

"Yep, it's been stolen."

[–]Cool-Zip 0 points1 point ago

I would at least give them credit if entering your info sent you to a page that just said "Yes."

[–]Googalyfrog 0 points1 point ago

Well if after you enter your credit card number it automatically answers yes, then technically it is accurate at least.

[–]Wisps 0 points1 point ago

I've seen this before.

[–]MrArgo 0 points1 point ago

You need a CV code for it to work, not just the number and date. At least in the UK.

[–]mjc1027 0 points1 point ago

You would be amazed how many times my fiance's mother has been scammed by internet fraud. She never learns, her most recent 'win' was to pay $200 to get 'free' tickets to Vegas for four people, even gave out her banking information.

She is retarded.

[–]Shady_Love 1 point2 points ago

Fun fact: the expiration date isn't necessary for any transaction. You could put any random date and the card will still go through.

edit: obviously not a date in the past

[–]TheBlackAngelsDeath 0 points1 point ago

TIL.

[–]TAWS 0 points1 point ago

This isn't true. It depends on what checks the merchant does. In most cases, the name/city/street doesn't matter.

[–]PhRzN 0 points1 point ago

similar website which I personally find to work quite well when I'm confused

ismycreditcardstolen.com

[–]CptQwark 0 points1 point ago

pfft what kinda idiot would fall for this. Everyone knows the only legit people to trust with your card info are nigerian princes

[–]aznwhiteboi 0 points1 point ago

WHAT THE FUCK A CREDIT CARD SCAM!?

[–]spoone 0 points1 point ago

"It has now"

[–]jdnorton 0 points1 point ago

and I would have gotten away with it too, if it wasn't for you meddling Redditors!

[–]JustinBOFHt 0 points1 point ago

I seem to remember that this is from SatireWire, though I can't find the link right now.

[–]R88SHUN 0 points1 point ago

You wanna talk about a coincidence, mine was stolen the day after I used their fine service.

[–]kroiler 0 points1 point ago

Mine appears to be ok...

[–]jesse_h 0 points1 point ago

I'm having trouble entering my number into your link. Can i just use the comment area of this thread?

[–]Smashy76 0 points1 point ago

This reminds me when I got a call that my warranty on my 2005 and newer vehicle had run out. It was a live person and that was seriously their opening line. It went like this "Hi, I'm calling to inform you that your warranty has run out on your 2005 or newer vehicle and if you renew today I'm able to offer you 5 years warranty for the price of 3 years" I responded with "which one?" The lady replied "I dunno, your 2005 or newer one" I knew it was a scam as 4 other people in my office got calls too. Weird part was that the call came in on my cell phone. I had to play along, I had to have fun at the expense of others. So I asked what I needed to do. She said if have to fill out some online info and credit card info. I told her that I'd have to fax it back as I'm not computer savy enough to scan and resend. I told her I had 5 cars, but only 4 are 2005 or newer. She offered to put a warranty on my 5th vehicle for the same price as the others. I became a "lay down" (sales term for easy customer) I asked for the number to confirm I had received their emails, then asked how much will it all cost. She said $500 per vehicle and a $100 processing fee. When I asked if that's the best they could do, a manger came on the line to do a "second man close". (It's old sales tactic ) I got so much info bout who, what and $75 off! Woohoo!

Funny how they thought they'd scam me, but haha I out negotiated them and got $75! Suckers. <-------kidding just a lot of sarcasm.

What I did then was to write some serious foul words in huge black marker on the print outs. Then I taped the pages together end to end, put in the fax and hit send. Once the first page was thru, I then taped to the last page, creating a massive 5 page long fax loop. The fax just going and going and going. It wasn't till about 20 min later their fax machine stopped the request. I got a nasty email and then they called back so I answered the call like this "ontario provincial police, fraud division" they hung up. After 6 pm I resent the "fax loop" in hopes they had all left and their fax would be receiving my "fax loop" all night long. Then I spam bombed the email address they sent forms from. Called cops gave all info.. The cops laughed at my retaliation. The numbers and contact info lead me to a Brooklyn New York address. No Nigerians..

For some reason that made me think of the old Reddit... No, I won't say it.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

I'm so used to seeing ads on the internet that I waited at least two minutes before I looked at the image.. I thought it was an ad and waited for the real image to pop up. I'm an Idiot.

[–]spacekadette 1 point2 points ago

Me too.

It's not microsofts fault, it's the website that authorizes it's advertising space.

[–]T2112 0 points1 point ago

I was attempting a play on words from OPs user name and all the problems windows gives.
