I juts messaged the mods about it. Contrary to popular belief, when something is in blatant violation of the rules, they will take it down if notified. I did it the other day with the post where the kids were holding up the "GOD HATES FAGS" signs, as it was a politically implicated post.

Karmanaut is one of the mods over at /r/iama. Apparently, popular Redditor Shitty Watercolor was posting links to buy his work in his comments. As I understand it, SWC would wait until his comments (which of course was a watercolor painting) would accumulate a large amount of upvotes, as they usually did, and then he would edit in the link once his comment reached the top. He was basically exploiting the upvote system for profit. Karmanaut banned him for this, and now the hive mind downvotes every comment he posts. This is especially ridiculous because he only posts as karmanaut when he is modding. I'm sure there are other Redditors that have screen shots of the drama unfolding. You could also look into karmanaut's comment history for more info.

This was my first post and when I posted it, it asked for a sub-reddit and since this was where the hand posts were coming from, this is where I decided to post it to.
