It's been stated many, many times that there is nothing that increases the chance of a pokeball working, aside from low HP, and status effects.

It does not. The comic that "taught you this" was suggesting that he's looping through throwing balls and failing to catch over and over rather than using a trick to catch the Articuno.

  • Posts must be directly gaming-related. Thus, "generic" image macros/memes (where the character itself is not related to gaming) like Scumbag Steve, Good Guy Greg, etc. will be removed. Something that "reminds you of a game", or "looks like something from a game" is also not an appropriate submission; similarly, reaction GIFs are also not appropriate as submissions.

Haha when I was a kid I thought if there was too much noise around it that it wouldn't work. I blamed a lot of poeple for that -_-

I've always been a big fan of the "up+B+A" method.

I SWEAR I caught some badass pokemon with a standard pokeball using the Up+B+A method. This was years ago, but I specifically remember doing it.

Apparently, it's all bunk. None of works. But I still stand by my anecdote.
