I miss her blog so much. :(

[–]walkinthecow 14 points15 points ago

Did you put up lost blog posters?

[–]Metsa 4 points5 points ago

Who's blog?

[–]krylakenlo 31 points32 points ago

Hyperbole and a half. Not sure what happened to her, but the blog was amazing when it was active.

[–][deleted] 26 points27 points ago

Here's some info on what she's been up to lately (that sounds creepy as fuck).

F'th'lazy [something she said on her public FB a couple months back]:

As you have probably noticed, I came out of hiding a little bit today. It was fun to talk to you guys (except the times we talked about spiders), and I feel very loved. You have no idea how much I appreciate your patience through all of this, and I hope that I can reward it with something truly deserving. I've been working hard on my book and also a new post for my blog, but this particular post has been a long time in the making and it still might take a while to finish because I want it to be as good as possible (it is coming, though). And I absolutely can't wait to be able to show you the posts I've done for my book! I'm quite pleased with what I've got so far, and it's all I can do to keep it to myself. Anyway, I love you all and thanks for being so wonderful all the time (aside from all the times when you talk about spiders)."

Also her reddit account (barely used *in recent times) is /u/Tubemonster.

I agree with ya; Hyperbole is one of my all-time faves :)

[–]dressiertugboat 2 points3 points ago

Tubemonster. Nice.

[–]sertman 3 points4 points ago

[–]Kill_Welly 12 points13 points ago

I am blog.

[–]Metsa 4 points5 points ago

I deserve that. I used bad grammar and I feel bad

[–]hooizyoo 80 points81 points ago

As someone who is self employed, works from home and has minimal human contact, I can relate. Some times I'll go an entire day without actually speaking out loud. Then when I finally do have to talk to someone on the phone or something, my voice will go out really quickly I guess because my vocal cords haven't gotten any exercise.

[–]rulsky 27 points28 points ago

That's the reason I set up a "temporary office" at different coffee shops like Starbucks, and some other times a local bars..... and yes I can drink whisky at my "job"

[–]danny_ 19 points20 points ago

And this "job" is enough to support yourself? Honest question.

[–]JBOSS_08 4 points5 points ago

I would also like to know this as it sounds awsome.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points ago

Well it would if not for the crippling alcoholism from drinking all day.

[–]StoneGoldX 6 points7 points ago

Ah, if only. But my telecommute job requires me to watch TV for six hours at a time. And that's not a joke. But I have done my job pretty hammered a couple of times.

[–]Tusnal 6 points7 points ago

Lol. Same. Sometimes the first word out of my mouth is like at 4pm when i have to make a phone call. lol. .../sigh. :(

[–]blueboatjc 4 points5 points ago

I'm in the same spot. It's rather annoying when I'm actually out with my friends and they bring it up as if I do nothing all day. Meanwhile I'm making much, much more than them.

[–]2Punx2Furious 2 points3 points ago

What job?

[–]poord 3 points4 points ago

hahahahah, I'm a freelancer that works from home, I feel bro, I feel

[–]Bombdude 84 points85 points ago

You aren't a loser, you are a professional Redditor.

[–]Thorus 30 points31 points ago

Or a Hikikomori.

[–]Level_75_Zapdos 18 points19 points ago

[–]TomFist 5 points6 points ago

I came here to ride the Welcome to the NHK karma train.

[–]finallymadeanaccount 4 points5 points ago

Living the dream, buddy!

[–]BrodyApproves 26 points27 points ago

A glorious fucking loser at best though.

[–]cheesyc 260 points261 points ago

Your definition of loser is my personal fantasy. Pajamas all day long and not having to interact with humans? Count me in.

[–]spartacus- 45 points46 points ago

The problem is that you eventually do have to go interact with humans and the longer you've been cloistered away the more terrifying other people become. Plus you start to lose your speaking skills and then when someone asks you a question you end up standing there and having to try and put words together in your head before you can answer them and it just makes it even more awkward.

It also tends to make you more prone to talking to yourself and laughing or smiling at things in your head, which makes people start to think you're weird or crazy.

[–]tugtugerin 7 points8 points ago

As someone with social anxiety (actual, not self-diagnosed), the first part of this is very true. Even after a long weekend away from work, I have trouble adjusting after getting back to work. On the plus side, exposure therapy did wonders for me, and for the most part, I'm perfectly fine at work and talking with people, unless I'm tired.

[–]TitaninMagellan 5 points6 points ago

Wait that last part there is weird? I've been doing that all my life. I talk to myself all the time, sometimes I even have multiple different "voices" talking if I feel like holding up a conversation with myself. I wasn't aware that this wasn't normal.

Edit: I've been piecing it together, and I have come to the conclusion that I should see my psychiatrist soon. Just one other thing; is it weird to think you are being followed whenever you drive? Every time I get close to home I have to make sure there are no cars following me.

[–]Elessar20 1 point2 points ago

How did you get into my head? GET OUT OF HERE!!!

[–]falousco 102 points103 points ago

It sounds like the dream until you live it, it's like when you have the horn and decide to go all-out with some freaky ass porn, crazy by your standards but in the heat of the moment it's fucking perfect.

Once you finish, you suddenly regress into shame and realise the dream wasn't all your mind made it out to be.

[–]varukasalt 51 points52 points ago

You get over it as you get older. Now, I never regret it. Ever. Why should I? There's no one there but me, who did it hurt? Don't judge yourself too harshly or too often. There's plenty of others who will do that for you. Make sure to doubly ignore them.

[–]walkinthecow 17 points18 points ago

who did it hurt?

You mean you've never hurt yourself during an extreme bating sesh?

[–]varukasalt 13 points14 points ago

A muscle cramp or 2.

[–]Tasgallxx 5 points6 points ago

No burns?

[–]KrimsonTide 10 points11 points ago

I've done it so hard I cut my foreskin. GOML

[–]God_of_Abraham 6 points7 points ago

THE CHAFING!!! BEWARE THE CHAFING!!!

[–]neffered 4 points5 points ago

Risky click.

[–]Haber_Dasher 10 points11 points ago

As an extrovert, if I didn't leave my apartment for a straight week I can say in all honestly I would probably become borderline suicidal. I have to find some excuse to leave at minimum every 2 days, even if it's just to walk the gas station for a soda or something.

[–]mirv321 3 points4 points ago

I do that anyway. It's called being in a University with a lenient dress code and lecturers who wish they could do the same.

[–]StewieForPrez 8 points9 points ago

I just blew two weeks of vacation at home... days passed without leaving.

It was fucking awesome...

[–]krypt2nite 7 points8 points ago

This makes me happy. My co-workers always ask what I did/doing on my vacations and I am honest and say nothing. They are so confused and have no idea I had the time of my life being by myself messing with my hobbies and enjoying the world and not adult high school.

[–]Turbansam 4 points5 points ago

Am i the only one who loves the shit out of hanging out with other people?

[–]dressiertugboat 13 points14 points ago

Naw, dude. Introverts just need their alone time. It's one of my greatest dilemmas. I talk to people for a living, and as an introvert, it becomes very draining. Some days I want a busier social life, but when the opportunity knocks, I'm so wiped out.

[–]River_Raider 2 points3 points ago

I'm a light introvert. I love hanging out with people, I just need to recharge every once in a while. I work customer service, and after getting screamed at and getting death threats, I tend to want to stay away from people... Just for a little bit.

[–]10thplanetwestLA 3 points4 points ago

I have to agree here. Between long hours at work and having to spend most nights at my girlfriend's place (she has dogs and they aren't allowed at my place), staying at my own place for long periods of time feels like a VACATION to me.

[–]grubas 1 point2 points ago

I live in an apartment with 2 other guys and my girlfriend half lives here, after tomorrow we all spend the next week grading papers, drinking heavily, and banning jeans. It's not perfect, it sucks, I want to have proper free time.

[–]emperoroftexas 3 points4 points ago

Why on earth would anyone ever ban jeans?

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points ago

So everyone is left on Pj level of humanity.

[–]cursed_deity 44 points45 points ago

a week?

try years.

[–]dreadredheadzedsdead 45 points46 points ago

Damn straight. My sleep schedule is all fucked up now though, I'm awake from the hours of 4pm-8am

[–]BlazeUp 30 points31 points ago

I go to sleep when my parents are waking up for work and I get up when they are finished working. I'm a great son.

[–]dreadredheadzedsdead 30 points31 points ago

I consider myself something of a nightwatchman for the household heh.

[–]anonim1230 7 points8 points ago

Boo Radley?

[–]BlackZeppelin 7 points8 points ago

[–]Condorcet_Winner 4 points5 points ago

What about work? Or visiting family?

[–]Robby_Digital 11 points12 points ago

You don't have to worry about those things in jail.

[–]Managua_Green 3 points4 points ago

Damn man, get some sunlight.

[–]130n35s 13 points14 points ago

I go out at least once a day for a three mile walk, but live in the new england area. So I still have a nice vitamin D deficiency. Getting sun around here would take trip to some other geographic location.

[–]walkinthecow 2 points3 points ago

Sunshine is the worst - you are doing it right.

[–]walshke 1 point2 points ago

or you could drink milk

[–]Level_75_Zapdos 5 points6 points ago

Take a 5-10,000IU Vitamin D pill each day.

[–]Lilyo 20 points21 points ago

Fuck outside.

[–]Crimson88 13 points14 points ago

Just don't get caught!

[–]BlizzGamer 26 points27 points ago

[–]RC_Matthias 24 points25 points ago

[–]peligro 18 points19 points ago

I think he's trying to cheer OP up.

[–]IAMAHIPO_ocolor 5 points6 points ago

No. Never ever ever tell somebody this. It creates a perfectly legitimate excuse to not try as hard. Stop. No.

I've been there :/

[–]IamFullofStars 8 points9 points ago

You know you're going to have to explain the medical details now.

[–]ta1ntdude 30 points31 points ago

I work from home and since I quit drinking/drugs friends dont call anymore. So it's really easy for this to happen to people assuming you work from home or dont work. All it takes is for your social life to completely collapse. If everything goes right one trip to the grocery store will last me 2 weeks. So after that, theres no real reason to go anywhere. If i wanted to do anything social I'd have to actually go out and meet new people by myself. It's much easier to reddit all night.

[–]walkinthecow 12 points13 points ago

I'm right there with you pal, 'cept for the not working part - if only....

I quit drinking and drugging, and it makes socializing very difficult. I used to tell this to my drug counselor, but she wouldn't accept it. She says that people need to socialize to be healthy mentally, and that I must learn how to socialize w/o drinking or doing drugs. The problem is that 99% of the time, when people get together, they drink.

I could go on and on, and do have a lot to say on the matter, just not feeling it right now.

Good luck with staying clean, or whatever you want to do.

[–]DID_IT_FOR_YOU 9 points10 points ago

Go to an AA meeting and make friends there? You could also volunteer with your free time and make friends there and etc... Real friends don't care if you don't drink.

[–]walkinthecow 4 points5 points ago

Firstly, thanks for the advice. Honestly, I've been to many AA meetings, and basically 99% of the people there don't seem like the type I would be friends with. They all have baggage (as do I, but still) they just seem so down trodden and depressing, it's hard to put my finger on it.

As for the second part, it's not my firends who don't accept me for not drinking, it's that I don't care to be around alcohol - also FWIW, my drug(s) of choice were never alcohol, so it's not a matter of me not wanting to be around it for fear of temptation or anything.

[–]PurpleSfinx 5 points6 points ago

I must learn how to socialize w/o drinking or doing drugs

Yeah, she doesn't seem to get that everyone else does too.

[–]dudeguy2 4 points5 points ago

Lol this is sadly, really fucking true. at least in my world. The only loophole is to become a stoner and say that weed isn't a drug lmao.

[–]klcna 5 points6 points ago

Not everyone does drugs and drinks all the time. You just need to meet new people that can get together for other reasons. Also, I know several people who don't drink at all and they still come to parties or go out for drinks with others, just without the drinks or drugs part..they still seem to have a good time.

[–]walkinthecow 3 points4 points ago

You are absolutely right. I think I've got myself in a vicious circle that I need to break free from:

Don't go out because I don't want drink - don't meet new people because I don't go out. Also, like one of the other posters said, people do eventually stop calling you and asking you to do things after you consistently turn them down.

[–]Ram27 5 points6 points ago

I kind of can't wait to get married so I don't have to worry about this.

[–]Kareha 11 points12 points ago

I've barely left the house for the last 6 month's, I'm pretty much a shut-in atm.

[–]Ssirius 2 points3 points ago

Last time i left the house i was wearing a shirt and shorts...

[–]Kyle772 6 points7 points ago

A week? What are you new around here? I only leave my house for school.

[–]winterspoon 5 points6 points ago

and/or depressed

[–]donskis 13 points14 points ago

[–]walkinthecow 9 points10 points ago

Would you believe that I cannot get my thirteen year old daughter to sit down for more than five minutes of that movie????

[–]FishCall 5 points6 points ago

My hope for society is slowly slipping...

[–]FreeTheMarket 3 points4 points ago

Whenever my parents ever suggested a movie to me and actually agreed to watch, if the picture quality looked old-timey at all I would completely lose interest. I don't know why, and it took a lot for me to get over that. I am 22 years old now and I can finally appreciate old movies. And what I mean by old is movies that came out before the time I enjoyed movies.

[–]mike311 3 points4 points ago

Skyrim?

[–]iDigBeer 2 points3 points ago

There was a period when I only left the house once a day to go on a beer run and get a felafel.

[–]Playswithpoo 15 points16 points ago

I was naked for a whole week during spring break. Didn't leave my dorm room. It was great.

[–]walkinthecow 27 points28 points ago

The 'dorm room' part of that sentence makes it sound horribly depressing - and a bit creepy.

[–]Robby_Digital 22 points23 points ago

I bet that smelled awesome...

[–]rx25 4 points5 points ago

An excellent week for me would be to be at home all snuggly, ordering food whenever the fuck I want, cook what I want, eat when I want, fap when I want, wake up late and play games until late at night. I wouldn't want to leave the house.

[–]WTFHaikus 8 points9 points ago

Or Canadian. Fucking snow.

[–]Owman 2 points3 points ago

Agreed. If you don't have a car it takes alot of effort to go out in the cold. Last winter I only left the house to go to school. I couldnt will myself to go grocery shopping for 6 weeks. I ate nothing but bulk pasta and pancakes :(

[–]DeePrincess 6 points7 points ago

not really....people have different reasons not to leave their home

[–]Vaztes 13 points14 points ago

As a guy who have stayed indoors for a week or more for no reason (not sick or anything like that) I'd politly disagree and say if you're not bound to your bed going outside is good for your health both mentally and physically. Not doing so makes you a lazy fucker - I'm guilty of that though, even to this day.

[–]serial_pooper54 1 point2 points ago

A whole week...try 3 months.

[–]Mellissadank 1 point2 points ago

Well.... This made me feel like shit..

[–]lethargic1 2 points3 points ago

I was on vacation last week. Made lots of plans on how I was gonna go hang out downtown, do my Christmas shopping, and maybe go to the zoo.

Nope.

Spent the entire week locked in my apartment getting fucked up and playing video games. The week just flew by and now I'm back at work wondering wtf happened. Christmas shopping's still not done with mere days left to go and I feel like a loser.

[–]simpersly 6 points7 points ago

Can people please start putting epilepsy warnings on their posts.

[–]wintrparkgrl 5 points6 points ago

week? do you even reddit?

[–]digitalCod 4 points5 points ago

You are normal society's definition of loser. You are Reddit society's definition of winner. :D

[–]Kombat_Wombat 4 points5 points ago

Mmm, nah. I like to think reddit has more traditionally successful people than we let on.

[–]poob-eye 2 points3 points ago

you had enough food and drink to last a week without noticing?

[–]Rein3 0 points1 point ago

I'm saving this gif to repost it when I finally decide tho confront the truth that I'm a failure as a individual in society.

[–]MapChicky 0 points1 point ago

oatmeal?

[–]Laugums_ 0 points1 point ago

I was isolated in my apartment for 7 months. Only persons I interacted with was my SO (only one I met in person) and my mother. Don't recommend it.

[–]Smokratez 2 points3 points ago

Why? I like being at home.

[–]dejatoo 2 points3 points ago

You must have a lot of groceries! Or you live with your parents?

[–]WhyamIreadingthis 0 points1 point ago

and when you realized this you worked on that...thing to post on Reddit instead of going outside.

[–]allantho 2 points3 points ago

Thanks I didn't have to go out for this feel... because it was so close to HOME!

LOLOLOLOLOLOL

I'm so lonely.

[–]reaverdude 2 points3 points ago

I long for the days when all I did was stay home all day and do nothing but play Diablo 2. Now I have to go to work and take care of a kid, both which take up massive amounts of my time. Enjoy it while you can.

[–]jbrittles 1 point2 points ago

how the fuck do you not have a job? but still have a house

[–]not-so-slenderman98 2 points3 points ago

Seizures. Seizures everywhere.

[–]ConvolutedBoy 6 points7 points ago

You really are, sorry.

[–]Anindoorcat 12 points13 points ago

No. If outside was so great, we wouldn't have invented inside.

[–]Tillhony 8 points9 points ago

Sorry to break it to you but, this is not really a good thing. At all.

[–]2weeks_ 29 points30 points ago

(throaway here) No kidding. It's been 2 weeks since i left my bedroom. I leave only to eat and shower. I don't even take my pajamas off anymore. I'm extremely depressed.

[–]Tillhony 10 points11 points ago

I know exactly those feels. I go outside and my depression sort of goes dim, but I literally have nothing to do out there. So I'm stuck in my house just doing nothing. I even stopped talking to my family.

[–]par6 7 points8 points ago

Another kindred soul here, though I have been living at home for more than a year now, which makes me almost a hikkikomori.

I am up for a chat anytime.

[–]anonim1230 1 point2 points ago

Not leaving at all through this time, or just not much? I'm over 2 years unemployed now, I go outside, sometimes, when it's needed, but mostly not, cause there's no reason for. Especially in the winter. Or I wake up lately and I'm up mostly in the middle of the night when it's not time for a walk, or shopping, or whatever.

[–]lookupinthesky 3 points4 points ago

well here, youre a hero living the dream

[–]josephanthony 0 points1 point ago

Accio, food!

[–]wakinupdrunk 1 point2 points ago

You will always be a loser!

[–]kresblain 5 points6 points ago

But that's okay!

[–]BaconCane 1 point2 points ago

Not a loser, just unemployed. Ok, maaaybe both.

[–]Oldsport 1 point2 points ago

I just ran out of food, human interaction required for a short period of time. Pray for me.

[–]badasseowyn 0 points1 point ago

i hope you at least didnt waste water showering. i wouldn't have.

[–]thebaddub 0 points1 point ago

[–]Hebephrenia 1 point2 points ago

I can't tell if the up votes are for being a shut in or for your realization.

[–]facerippermonkey 1 point2 points ago

fuck you, I have you beat. 3 weeks without walking, in a house doing nothing. eat it.

[–]MincedOaths 1 point2 points ago

Depends on the game. I'd say you'd be first in "not leaving the house".

[–]That0neG1rl 1 point2 points ago

can someone make me an "i am gay" one of these =]]

[–]drinkbot 1 point2 points ago

Afters weeks of solitude, I finally mustered up the courage to deal with the outside word.

I readied myself for the outside world, put on my winter attire, and ventured outdoors. Setting out the door, I hit a patch of black ice, fell down a flight of stairs. When I looked up, my hot neighbor was standing over me giggling.

I'm never leaving the apartment again.

[–]UnderwaterHandstand 1 point2 points ago

you must have had a sweet trip to the grocery before that week started.

[–]Fuck_Onions 1 point2 points ago

I haven't gone out in like 3 months, thank you so much MoP.

[–]-Shirley- 1 point2 points ago

At some times I didnt leave my house in over a month.

I wished i would find something that would make me happy to go outside.

[–]Goofyface 1 point2 points ago

I haven't left the house in 2 weeks besides food buying and the occasional smoke, all because of project hand ins early january AND I WILL NOT FAIL!!!!

[–]Cosmic_Pumpkin 1 point2 points ago

Fuck it just leave if for tomorrow

[–]need_pics 1 point2 points ago

I'm with you bro, but I got knocked the fuck out last week for no reason so I've just been hiding my face :)

[–]pointlessness 1 point2 points ago

If you can earn money without leaving the house, you're more like a winner.

[–]apollo84 1 point2 points ago

how is this possible

[–]Graywolves 1 point2 points ago

Only a week you say?

[–]Eighthsin 1 point2 points ago

As a still recovering agoraphobic, fuck you...

[–]SKSmokes 1 point2 points ago

Grass is always greener I suppose. Being able to not to have to feel compelled to leave my house for an entire week sounds absolutely great....but whenever my wife/kids leave the house for 3-4 days (once a year or so) while I do spend time at home, I also usually go out in the evenings, so I suppose I realize that's bullshit and I'd hate sitting around my house for a week.

[–]DaveFishBulb 1 point2 points ago

What's this got to do with leaving the house?

[–]Bella304 1 point2 points ago

I would of come out singing "IT'S A WHOLE NEW WORLLLD.." Aladdin ..

[–]Ottercrunch 1 point2 points ago

but..but... food?

[–]rpgZenMaster 1 point2 points ago

You're seeing a very select group chosen from a population of every redditor on the planet.

[–]deus_lemmus 1 point2 points ago

+1 up for "Loser" being correctly spelled.

[–]penkap1 1 point2 points ago

Fuck that. You're grounded, centered. Zone 1.

[–]ansate 1 point2 points ago

I'd do that, but I'd have to go grocery shopping first. Currently the only food in my house is a can of artichoke hearts, spaghetti sauce (no noodles,) and some condiments and beer in the fridge.

[–]clonetrooper250 1 point2 points ago

Wait... you leave the house? What's it like on the outside?

[–]meatwad1987 1 point2 points ago

do you know how much money you just saved!?

[–]unknownreddit 1 point2 points ago

Not even to buy more beer, coffee, or Pringles..? What the fuck are you doing with life.

[–]jrymer04 0 points1 point ago

I have not left my house since mid November and its fantastic. I have not had to deal with a single asshole in a month. I don't plan on getting out until January.

[–]beershitz 0 points1 point ago

in the time you made this you could have done something

[–]CapnJaques 0 points1 point ago

This is something I realize all too often. I have very little interest in interacting with the outside word. It's to the point where if someone see's me fully dressed and groomed, they know I'm going out or have to be somewhere. To be clear, I'm always dressed and groomed, it's just generally dressed means more like gym shorts and a t-shirt instead of trousers and a button-up.

Edit: I also alienate my friends, only speak to them via email, don't accept phone calls and only meet up with them on special occasions...when I feel like it..

[–]Gertle 0 points1 point ago

A week? Try the last 2 years for me.

[–]Arb3395 0 points1 point ago

My parents do let me fucking leave

[–]Nayr39 1 point2 points ago

I enjoy being alone and at home. Cheap, easy and I'm already there. It's a shame there's such a stigma surrounding it.

[–]Stripeb49 0 points1 point ago

But on the internet I'm not!

[–]Hydroweedmancer 0 points1 point ago

I remember the first thread this picture was posted in, and I remember someone adding the color change effect to it in a comment. Trust me, you aren't a loser yet.

[–]opposing_critter 1 point2 points ago

I dream about having a job that supports me and can work from home.

[–]MikhailaKirov 0 points1 point ago

This is why I get out just to go for walks, listen to music, take a smoke, go for a run, etc...cant stand being in the house

[–]mrcloudies 0 points1 point ago

Hmmm.. I believe it has been several years since i have not left the house..

I would go insane after 2 days. A week, that would be torture.

[–]Chren 0 points1 point ago

Livin the hiki life

[–]Gankstar 0 points1 point ago

I was inside for an entire season once. Missed fall entirely. Came out and all the leaves were gone. Was a pretty crazy feel. Kind of felt like an Elf from LOTR. Your year is my day.

[–]VCS777 0 points1 point ago

The good thing about being a recluse like me is that you won't sadden many people when you die...

No you're not. I haven't left my (awesome) house in about a week. My fiancee comes here, I work from home, and I can order take out if I want. That doesn't make you a loser unless you're sitting at home doing nothing or beating off all day.

If you don't count driving to school and haircuts, I haven't left the house for 7 years or more....

You say loser, I say self-sufficient and prepared for week-long stints indoors in case everything goes tits-up.

What are you eating...? Are you almost out of food?
