I remember reading somewhere that Scooby was specifically drawn to have features that are not desirable in a real Great Dane.

Very true. I don't know that it was done intentionally, but his shape, coloration, the carrying of the ears, etc. (even as a cartoon) would all be considered hugely incorrect according to breed standards. That's why I knew it was a recolor - not because I'm good at spotting that stuff, but because Great Danes don't come in those colors.

there's a lot of hostility towards this post, but can i just remind everyone that reddit is just a site to enjoy some fun links, and get a quick laugh. What's wrong with that? I think everyone should step back and look at this pick as a funny, and nostalgia inducing picture, while being a horrible photoshop, still provides joy and entertainment to many people. I go to reddit to relax, and enjoy a nice relaxing laugh or two in between a busy day of working, and trying to maintain my life.

Just my .02 cents on the whole matter.
