Only because you're taking it as a personal insult that you haven't seen the repost yet. Whilst it is an indicator that the image is a repost, it does state what the actual purpose of the comment is for; to find out more information. If an image intrigues you, it's more than likely it has intrigued others. Therefore if you want more information on the background or context, your probably going to find it in the comments. If not in the comments of the current post, then possibly in the comments of the previous times it been posted. It's quite helpful actually, especially for images in r/WTF.

This looks like the "Sculpture by the sea" festival. various artists put their sculptures and constructions on a coastline stretch somewhere. It's been in Denmark last year.
