Most of the shootings that occur are done so with illegally purchased and owned firarms so go ahead take them away it won't matter the criminals will still get them

I noticed that didn't include Mexico . . . US's neighbor . . . where most handguns are illegal.

Mexico is an anomaly, as it has a massive drug trafficking problem at the American border. Also the guns there are mostly machine guns and semi-automatic weapons. It's also not a first world nation.

Right . . . because the US's rate of gun murder has nothing to do with drugs.

Almost all handguns are semiautomatic weapons . . . fyi.

Yeah and if you look at all the countries at the top of the gun death lists, it's obvious that outside of war, most gun deaths are drug related. I agree that the situation is far too complicated for gun control to be effective at this point. It's a Pandora's box and you guys are just going to have to ride it out to see what happens.

I have a hard time believing Israel
