David Hassellhoff?

[–]KoalaZombie 59 points60 points ago

My girlfriend is like a Ferrari, I dont have one

[–]jai_kasavin 7 points8 points ago

My girlfriend is like the White House. No Bush and there's a black guy in it now.

[–]eggmanwalrus 3 points4 points ago

Eddie Jordan

[–]Talks2tigers 4 points5 points ago

That's what I thought too. Then I felt dumb because I couldn't spell hasselhoff.

[–]mmmmCake 0 points1 point ago

Anthony Bourdain

[–]sharkattaxNyanyanyana 1 point2 points ago

I thought it looked like dishevelled Mitt Romney initially.

[–]biirdmaan 30 points31 points ago

Was not expecting that at all. Then I watched it again and realized how obvious it wasn't he wasn't making contact with the car and I felt foolish :(

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points ago

Why did you feel foolish if it wasn't obvious?

[–]biirdmaan 5 points6 points ago

Because it should've been obvious

[–]yParticle 8 points9 points ago

Like all "magic" once you know the trick.

[–]TeddyHawkshire 35 points36 points ago

My god.. that man is tiny!!

[–]shit_master 5 points6 points ago

But his Ferrari sure isn't.

[–]Azumikkel 16 points17 points ago

Why can't you hold all these jokes

[–]doctopie 7 points8 points ago

Well it was informative.

[–]Azumikkel 0 points1 point ago

That's true, and for that, I thank him for making me at least a tiny bit smarter today.

[–][deleted] 17 points18 points ago

Holy shit that's a big seagull.

[–]posthumouse 9 points10 points ago

No way dude, it's just like, really close to the camera.

[–]Benders_brick 10 points11 points ago

I think I know a megagull when I see one.

[–]yeehe 4 points5 points ago

I've tried this kind of shot before, and it doesn't work for me. Any good photographers know how to focus on both the background (the guy cleaning) and the foreground (the ferrari) at the same time?

Edit: Thanks for all the responses, guys!

[–]Quick11 6 points7 points ago

It was done with the Frazier lens. Super expensive but really bad ass.

[–]oddlogic 0 points1 point ago

What a colossal waste of a Frazier lens.

[–]Justascienceteacher 0 points1 point ago

Wide open aperture.

Edit: Small, not wide open. Higher number F stop.

[–]dickfartmcpoopus 6 points7 points ago

quite the opposite, actually. you want to stop down your aperture for max depth of field.

[–]Justascienceteacher 2 points3 points ago

Thanks, you're correct.

[–]DeskFlyer 2 points3 points ago

Opposite, actually. Wide open aperture gives you a very narrow depth of field. Stop it down to F/22 and you can get both in focus (assuming you shooting with a short focal length).

[–]Justascienceteacher 4 points5 points ago

7D owner and operator for the last few years. YES, you are correct. I went potato there for a second.

[–]DeskFlyer 0 points1 point ago

We all potato once in awhile!

[–]DeskFlyer -1 points0 points ago

Narrow aperture and short focal length will give you a large depth of field.

[–]SnowOhio -1 points0 points ago

You want a deep depth of field for this. Which means close the aperture as much as possible. Using a long focal length also helps compress the distance between foreground and background.

[–]Dangalf -1 points0 points ago

A smaller aperture will give a greater depth of field.

Source:Depth of Field, also I've taken multiple photography classes

[–]Remix73 0 points1 point ago

I've done this effect a few times when teaching visual effects. You need a wide angle lens. This helps make objects closer appear bigger. Wide angles also have a closer hyperfocal distance, meaning the point that objects closer to the camera are in focus as well as those at infinity. In my case I have used both a Tokina 11-16 at f8 and a Canon 16-35 at similar apertures.

That V-Neck is practically a U.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points ago

That's one hell of a model.

[–]Leah-peah2 2 points3 points ago

I was really confused when I opened this because I thought it said cleaning my ferret...

[–]qwantry -2 points-1 points ago

No one cares

[–]thecoffeeWoah or whoa? 1 point2 points ago

thecoffee cares

[–]scottyourbanBong ripper 0 points1 point ago

Woah. Definitely not whoa.

[–]ThatSleepyGuy 1 point2 points ago

The tag totally gave it away...

[–]Quick11 1 point2 points ago

For other film nerds, this was made with the Frazier Lens. Pretty fucking cool actually.

[–]SenorJones 0 points1 point ago

His reaction at the end tells me that the giant is about to drop the car on the small man

[–]PajamaSam 0 points1 point ago

Bubs' foot isn't giant; it's just in the foreground!

[–]Pseudopsyence 0 points1 point ago

The Frazier lens strikes again. For anybody wanting to learn more about this invention and it's amazing Australian inventor you should watch the National Geographic documentary The Aussie Who Baffled the World.

http://natgeotv.com.au/tv/the-aussie-who-baffled-the-world/

[–]Optimal_Joy 0 points1 point ago

I'd love to see it, but I don't have cable TV and can't find a torrent... :-(

[–]Pseudopsyence 1 point2 points ago

I watched it on Austar which is Australian satellite tv. I just had a little look around for you and can't even find it through a deep scrape of Usenet so I'd say somebody is still yet to publicly upload it. Which is a shame, more people need to know about how Panavision stole the first iteration of the lens from the inventor through some patent bullshit.

[–]Optimal_Joy 0 points1 point ago

Thanks mate! I'll mark you down in case I'm looking for anything else, lol!

I expect to see this in some christian facebook fan page with the title "God takes no more than what you need, the first shall be last and the last shall be first."

Gets me every time dam it!

TMI

[–]Mac-O-War 0 points1 point ago

source?

[–]eggmanwalrus 2 points3 points ago

Its Eddie Jordan, former F1 driver and team owner, in a small skit while presenting the BBC's Formula 1 coverage.

[–]oldsecondhand 0 points1 point ago

This gif is as old as the internet itself.

[–]SamWise050 -1 points0 points ago

[–]lazyslacker 1 point2 points ago

HUGE depth of field to pull that off, unless it was a composite shot. Must've been taken with a really small video camera, and/or with a really, really high f-stop value. Or some special kind of lens I don't know about.

[–]TimothyGonzalez -3 points-2 points ago

except it's a Porsche, not a Ferrari.

[–]thecoffeeWoah or whoa? 0 points1 point ago

Actually its a die cast model, not a car.

[–]Pseudopsyence 0 points1 point ago

It's a model of a Ferrari 250 GTO
