This is from a comic book titled "Pride of Baghdad" it takes place during an attack when a bunch of animals escape a zoo. I believe the Giraffe got hit by a rocket.

As an American, I've always known that our perception of the war in Iraq is skewed by our government. But damn, I really had no clue that giraffes were being exploded. This needs media attention.

Actually, aside from Israel, everybody in the middle east uses Arabic, there are variations and they don't exactly understand each other really well but it's the same language from Syria to Oman, from Jordan to Kuwait. Not sure Iran can be counted in. I know for instance the egyptian pronounce the J (as in jeans) "gu" as in guilt, so they would be wearing gueans. Think of it as portuguese and brasilian portuguese, same language slightly different usage. that was the daily PSA :)

I was thinking about that, i think Irani (farsi) & all the languages east of the persian gulf are different, the alphabet is the same but the language are different. I know my friend from Lahore Pakistan could read the Qu'ran but couldn't understand a word. Then again Quranic arabic is apparently very specific.
