And this is why I have OP tagged as a reposter. I'm pretty sure that's all he does.

[–]warchamp7 0 points1 point ago

I got another one for you, name is microsoftt

[–]dkmc1721 1 point2 points ago

holy fuck its warchamp. hai.

[–]exozeitgeist -2 points-1 points ago

Who cares.

[–]i_start_fires 24 points25 points ago

I don't understand why car designers even bother with this kind of outlandish stuff anymore. I mean, yeah it's fun for the designers and looks awesome, but I wonder if it does the companies a disservice.

"Hey, look at this sweet design! We couldn't build one even if we wanted to, so instead here's our newest model: another sedan that looks just like last years because fuck you!"

[–]EyeFicksIt 20 points21 points ago

Actually, there is a great reason why designers do this. It's an old philosophy that goes with creating extreme and beautiful designs and so that portions of this may be incorporated into future practical vehicles.

Here is an example:

Cadillac Cien Concept Car 2002

Cadillac Models 2002 For comparison of the time.

Cadillac CTS 2008

Cadillar ELR 2014

Everyone will agree that the concept is far from the production vehicle, but you can see the incorporation of the grill style the sharp lines. It took a while to get here, but its work that has born 12 years ago with the Cadillac Concept.

[–]Daedalus256 2 points3 points ago

Actually the Cadillac XLR looked an awful lot like the concept, but it was kind of rubbish so no one talks about it.

[–]EyeFicksIt 2 points3 points ago

And I didn't mention it, and we will never speak of this again.

[–]Rokyr 3 points4 points ago

If you bought less of last year's sedan, they wouldn't have the time to think up this one.

[–]wolf_op 3 points4 points ago

This isn't from Cadillac. This photo is probably an art student's senior design project.

[–]Rab_Legend 0 points1 point ago

These concept cars are concepts. They are just design ideas that are useful, because through this comes the inspiration for real cars.

[–]alphanovember -1 points0 points ago

It doesn't even look cool, just plain retarded.

[–]conman577 0 points1 point ago

You say this now, people 50 years from now might not be singing the same tune.

[–]corvett 3 points4 points ago

So why does it have 6 bicycle-width tires in place of each of the normal tires?

[–]dapostrophus 7 points8 points ago

What an incredibly stupid-looking car...

[–]InABritishAccent 2 points3 points ago

The frills remind me of a blue whale's mouth. Not in a good way.

[–]xoBehTkcuF 0 points1 point ago

I think those are called rorquals. Just in case..

[–]InABritishAccent 0 points1 point ago

[–]cheesedick25 2 points3 points ago

How do you get in it?

[–]Traumahawk 8 points9 points ago

Carefully.

[–]weltraumMonster 0 points1 point ago

they will only release it when we have inventend a star trek like transporter...

Its their thorium reactor concept. Its a thought experiment only, it'll never be built. Ford did it first in 1958 with their Ford Nucleon concept. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Nucleon

[–]tcsajax 1 point2 points ago

Also, this was already posted not to long ago.

[–]conman577 0 points1 point ago

Scary to think that the world of Fallout was so close, yet so far.

[–]B118 2 points3 points ago

  • Step 1: Make crazy concept car based on a whale.

  • Step 2: Put said car in shitty looking street with industrial area in the background.

  • Step 3: Take non artistic photo of the scene

[–]yaqueeah 1 point2 points ago

You... didn't include a step with question marks followed by a step with the P word after it. YOU DIDN'T SAY THE P-WORD. I'M BUYING YOU SOME FUCKING GOLD.

[–]blackandgould 0 points1 point ago

Holy shit, you actually bought him gold. Good on you.

[–]blackrebelmotorcycle 0 points1 point ago

Something right out of Hot Wheels...

[–]papacdub 1 point2 points ago

the tires would get so much shit stuck in them, like kittens.....now how does reddit feel about it?

[–]Stephanoh 0 points1 point ago

Wait but how do you get in?

[–]Kazhrei 1 point2 points ago

I don't understand "concept" cars. They're usually WILDLY designed, usually so far out there it's almost impossible to make, then they never make the damn thing.

It's like "LOOK WHAT WE CAN DO...but we're not going to"

[–]coolcool23 0 points1 point ago

And that's all it will ever be. Like most concepts.

[–]Bobxdd 1 point2 points ago

I hope you guys are aware that this is just some student/amateur render, not an actual Cadillac concept. Other than the "grille", kind of, it doesn't follow any current Cadillac design language.

[–]TwistedOneOfFate 1 point2 points ago

This concept looks ridiculous...It's like you take a 911 and make it have sex with TRON lightcycles

[–]Redsox933 1 point2 points ago

This is one of the dumbest looking cars I have ever seen.

[–]Duzzy_Funlop 1 point2 points ago

Looks like it was inspired by a blue whale.

[–]Antares42 0 points1 point ago

Ah, yes, the blue whale... epitome of agility.

[–]stalkingstalkers -1 points0 points ago

This looks sick. What am I seeing with the wheels, though? Know anything about the tire/wheel design?

[–]10010101 0 points1 point ago

Look like bicycle wheel

[–]sj2011 1 point2 points ago

Speaking of Cadillac concepts, I'd love to see the Cadillac Sixteen out and about one of these days.

[–]twokoolfourskool -1 points0 points ago

Screw this, go for the Cadillac Cien. Too bad you can't buy them, it was just a concept car.
