Zombie Rudolph.

[–]Osiris32[!] 8 points9 points ago

The red nose is from eating the brains of all the good little girls and boys.

[–]BeerInMyButt 5 points6 points ago

This winter, he's back, with a vengeance.

They'll wish they had included him in their reindeer games.

[–]glenlikespie 0 points1 point ago

A little bit more of him is red than just his nose.

[–]KeiWaiCat 15 points16 points ago

[–]TakeTheBloodyShot 5 points6 points ago

[–]precisi0n86 2 points3 points ago

He's just having a little fawn

[–]TakeTheBloodyShot 2 points3 points ago

Oh I see! You guys are BUCKing clever!

[–]CunningJaMarcus 5 points6 points ago

This feels straight out of the last scene in season 2 of Game of Thrones.

[–]lookfamiliar 1 point2 points ago

Or the second scene in season 1.

[–]SpinozaDiego 3 points4 points ago

So that's what the term "bareback" means.

[–]idiosyncrassy 2 points3 points ago

What the hell did they do to Grandma, then?

[–]pskow 1 point2 points ago

Looks like SOMEONE has a bad case of winter itch and can't stop scratchin'...

[–]Slobiththecob 7 points8 points ago

Someone probably hit it with a car, it froze, they then proped it up. Pretty awesome if you ask me XD

[–]Miaoudeminou 4 points5 points ago

Yup. You got it. This is the only thing I've found that explains it (I was trying to find more; I saw this picture over a year ago).
From what I remember the farmers, who own the deer, pose them to remind drivers to watch out for them.

[–]salty84 0 points1 point ago

Front legs indicate a weight bearing stance. When a car hits an animal of that size, the car most likely will need a tow and road cleanup due to animal guts, car parts, glass.

If a transport truck did hit it, there would barely be anything left.

[–]ztealthy 0 points1 point ago

Actually reindeer get hit all the time by semi trucks or whatever you call them. they usually die straight away, but some actually live on for maybe 1 hour or so.

[–]salty84 0 points1 point ago

But they don't look like that.

[–]ztealthy 0 points1 point ago

well that isn't a fresh carcass, that is after 3-5 days. AFTER the crows have been feasting on it

[–]salty84 0 points1 point ago

You don't think I noticed that?

It died standing up in a snow bank during a snow storm. The part that is all picked apart was exposed to the elements. When the snow melted someone took a pic.

[–]ztealthy 0 points1 point ago

No, youre actually wrong.

Its roadkill. after that someone came and set it standing by the road. I repeat, It did not die standing! someone propped it up later on

[–]salty84 0 points1 point ago

Ok lol. We done now?

[–]narcey 0 points1 point ago

shouldve put gore warning

[–]precisi0n86 2 points3 points ago

Warning! There be global warming in this thread!

[–]TharsisRise 2 points3 points ago

Twist: It's actually alive.

[–]precisi0n86 1 point2 points ago

False. A deer cannot survive with frozen internal organs.

[–]TharsisRise 0 points1 point ago

Well, spoil the fun, fine, I respect the fact you do not care of the backlash.

[–]rjmskyfire 1 point2 points ago

Rudolph nooooo...

[–]philycheezestake 0 points1 point ago

Awesome.

[–]SevenfoldAvenger 0 points1 point ago

So… is the whole zombie apocalypse starting NOW?

[–]Rhesusmonkeydave 0 points1 point ago

Can someone explain the physics of this? It froze standing up... And then what? Birds ate the top bit? If the bottom was missing I could see, wolves or whatever, but who ate just the top of a frozen solid reindeer?

[–]Joedang100 5 points6 points ago

This picture (or one just like it) was also posted last year. Someone explained it as follows...

  • reindeer dies in deep snow; doesn't fall over
  • that day's snowfall continues until all but its back is covered
  • While the snow level remains steady, animals eat everything that's exposed.
  • snow melts, exposing uneaten flesh

I think this is a lot more reasonable than someone propping it up. If they did, they'd have to use the snow, since there are no visible supports. It would be a huge fucking pain, trying to stand up that very large animal in the snow. Also, the Roadside Art Hypothesis doesn't explain why only the back is eaten.

Edit: spelling

It looks like there's a blog post claiming the reindeer was propped there to warn drivers. Unfortunately it doesn't provide any source. Google doesn't seem to provide and extra insights either...

[–]Slobiththecob 3 points4 points ago

Naw, proped up probably. It got hit and then froze, and someone proped it up.

[–]salty84 0 points1 point ago

It would be mangled to shit if t was hit... Look at the front legs, weight bearing stance.

[–]sutniotibahmansiuqsu 2 points3 points ago

It's a White Walker.

[–]GALACTIC-SAUSAGE 1 point2 points ago

These were set up by the Norwegian (I think?) government as a traffic calming measure.

[–]remhawk99 -1 points0 points ago

HOLY FACK! -Bubbles

[–]Lewie_Goin_Krazy -4 points-3 points ago

Meanwhile in repost.

[–]NominallySafeForWork -2 points-1 points ago

This looks like Norway. (I can tell from the look of the signs.)

[–]ztealthy 0 points1 point ago

Yeah, it is in norway, close too finland.
