Not to put too much discussion into r/pics, but I wonder how often they have to deal with sores and other things on that leg.

That much weight supported on the stump probably causes him a significant amount of discomfort. I'd be interested to know how they deal with stuff like that.

Still, a prosthetic leg for an elephant is pretty damned cool.

Do you know where this is, when I went to Sri Lanka there was an elephant there who lost a foot to a land mine. Every time they got him a prosthesis he threw it off. Is this that elephant? I really hope that elephant finally did get a foot that worked
