Blocked in my country :(

I like how through all that exploding the vibrations were able to simulate the sounds of a guitar, bass, and drums.

[–]PretyLights 1 point2 points ago

Pfffffff hardly. The falcon punch in brawl was weak sauce compared to n64 ssb.

[–]nickelbackisbad 0 points1 point ago

too quiet

[–]MaceFace2[!] 1 point2 points ago

The music wasn't added. It is literally an explosion of sweet guitar riffs.

Actually they both fly backwards and take 25-34% damage. Also, it blew up a computer tower, and Super Smash Bros was only on N64. It could be an emulator, but I dont know if an N64 emulator existed back then.

[–]xlaxplaya 35 points36 points ago

What? No. They cancel each other out. I don't know if there's an official term for it, but my friends and I always said they "clanked" because of the sound it made. Nobody takes any damage. The same thing happens in Smash 64, Melee, and Brawl.

Have some proof.

EDIT: After further research, I have found that we're both right. If the two Falcons are very close to each other, they're are both damaged and knocked back. If they're far away enough, the two moves clank.

Further proof.

For those familiar with Smash terminology, a cancellation happens when two hitboxes with the same priority overlap at the same time. When the two Falcons are very close together, their hitboxes don't touch because they're past each other.

EDIT 2: Smash was released in 99. This emulator was released in 98.

Change "proof" to "evidence" and this all makes sense. Otherwise you have "proof" that disproves itself.

[–]superatheist95 5 points6 points ago

Good work, detective.

[–]wtf_shroom 61 points62 points ago

Logic? Ain't nobody got time for that.

Edit Had to worsen the grammar.

[–]skyman724 16 points17 points ago

That edit might be a Reddit first.

[–]apkat 1 point2 points ago

But he didn't even edit it :(

[–]lunarknight64 6 points7 points ago

Actually, the attacks have the same priority and neither of them take any damage.

And this is why I had to downvote :(

whenever i've seen GIF posts with someone saying "i can't stop laughing at this", i've always been underwhelmed.

finally, an old, infinity-reposted GIF that i've never seen absolutely slays me. this is hilarious.

[–]noobpower96 1 point2 points ago

I can't stop laughing at this.

[–]jigglydrizzle 13 points14 points ago

[–]naimgood 8 points9 points ago

[insert rant about this being a repost and that being a nintendo 64 game]

Still a fun gif though.

[–]darbykp 1 point2 points ago

Funniest thing i have seen all day.

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points ago

Silent, vacant, a cold breeze cuts across the ground like a fine-edged blade. I pull out my grandfathers fog watch, a small, silver thing. Well aged, and worn around the edges, I can feel its weight as I slip it back into my trench coat pocket. Soft at first, but growing in castrophany, the large metal steam engine squeeled into the station. Before I step on the train never to be seen again, a haunting message escapes my lips, "upvote" ...

[–]ChrisFRKNRogers 19 points20 points ago

So you can say more than "utinni."

[–][deleted] 14 points15 points ago

The belief that we can only say, or commonly say "utinni" is a myth, much like the boogeyman, or Michael Jackson. Spread mainly by the Tusken Raiders, to undermine my society.

[–]ChrisFRKNRogers 7 points8 points ago

How about that. The more you know.

I like this kind of comment. It shows me how Reddit is working.

Raccoon?

[–]FalconDickPunch -1 points0 points ago

Sorry guys

[–]Joemungus 0 points1 point ago

My screen, no joke, went black as soon as they hit...

[–]bloodkid187 0 points1 point ago

cant help but imagine some sort of falcon racoon hybrid at the mention of falcooon!!!

[–]Erechtheus 0 points1 point ago

That's weird. I don't remember the PC version of SSB.

[–]xlaxplaya 0 points1 point ago

Emulators, brah.

[–]noobpower96 0 points1 point ago

I highly doubt computers back then were powerful enough to run a n64 emulator.

[–]xlaxplaya 0 points1 point ago

Back when? Back when this gif was made? This meme was started in 2008. I'm guessing the gif isn't more than a few years old.

[–]noobpower96 -1 points0 points ago

I'm pretty sure that computer could not run that emulator.

[–]xlaxplaya 0 points1 point ago

What the fuck are you even saying? It's two video clips mashed together. The computer has nothing to do with the game. It's just a random video of a computer exploding. Jesus christ. Why am I arguing with this high school retard.

[–]ItCanAlwaysGetWorse 2 points3 points ago

It's interesting to see how people judge the power of a PC by the case and the monitor that is connected to it.

[–]idiot_with_a_gun 1 point2 points ago

You realize that computer cases and monitors have nothing to do with the age of the computer for those who build their own, right? Some people go for the "I'm a big fan of 2 Fast 2 Furious" and LEDs look, but some people prefer the old beige box. Also, they're less likely to get stolen.

[–]noobpower96 0 points1 point ago

but i highly doubt thats a gaming computer.

[–]kngkeeper 0 points1 point ago

A PSP can emulate an n64.

[–]noobpower96 0 points1 point ago

a psp is more advanced then a computer built in the early 2000's

[–]kngkeeper 0 points1 point ago

My computer in 2000 had a 1ghz Pentium iii and 256MB of RAM. Are you saying that a 333mhz MIPS processor and 64MB of RAM on the PSP is better?

[–]noobpower96 0 points1 point ago

Considering the amount of background applications a windows computer has to run, yes, and its not always about specs.

[–]kngkeeper 0 points1 point ago

Who said it was running Windows? It could be running an extremely optimized Gentoo install. Also, what told you the computer was built in the early 2000's? Lots of people re-use cases.

[–]shusshbug 0 points1 point ago

Woah does someone have a GIF of just the computer exploding?

[–]rachywalkee 0 points1 point ago

Fake but funny to me. Http://youtu.be/X3HT4gh-Hso

[–]Fawx505 0 points1 point ago

That escalated quickly!

[–]Pspdude2k 0 points1 point ago

[–]kill4urmom 0 points1 point ago

Upvote for you sir

[–]Pugglezzzzzzz 0 points1 point ago

N64 emulators: Not even once.

[–]noobpower96 1 point2 points ago

Why not?

[–]Pugglezzzzzzz 1 point2 points ago

Because apparently it enables a situation in which your computer explodes into a flaming ball...of awesome.

[–]homerrsexual -1 points0 points ago

why the fuck do you play smash on the PC like an idiot?

[–]PrayedSkydiver 0 points1 point ago

Caught me off guard.

Her left foot doesn't rise up or spasm or anything, looks fake as a result.

[–]STALLIS -2 points-1 points ago

I was expecting a racoon punching somthing.. the emphasis on the cooon. now im sad

[–]Looks_Good_In_Hats -2 points-1 points ago

This gif is older than the internet. Older than computers, for that matter. Weird huh?

[–]missC08 0 points1 point ago

Fucking awesome

[–]salomon102 -2 points-1 points ago

saving for later

[–]matts41 -2 points-1 points ago

I never got into elongating the vowel sounds via text because then you get words like falcoooon which is a badass-sounding beast, no doubt, but not exactly what you were going for in your title.

[–]adamcherrytree -2 points-1 points ago

So much repost

[–]DontCareBoutReposts 0 points1 point ago

Don't care.
