As a guy. The raped to death in prison one was the most unexpected and made me laugh.

[–]elevatorstairs -1 points0 points ago

there is some truyh though and Im not really a fan of the op using actual problems as humor, but, I laughed so can I even talk?

[–]LightningNinja2 23 points24 points ago

This post made me sad.

[–]Stroodlemuffin 16 points17 points ago

it's posted in /r/funny. Man up and laugh

[–]demonicsoap 13 points14 points ago

Ya you pussy

[–]bolognaismyfirstname 32 points33 points ago

Hmm, I never thought of it that way. Sorry guys for the shit you put up with. And maybe...just maybe you DO deserve a sandwich.

[–]Buttered_Penis 10 points11 points ago

Both sides have it rough, really. I think a woman should be able to offer a man a sandwich, just as a man should be able to offer a woman a back rub, or whatever it is a guy can do for his girl.

[–]RexArcana 4 points5 points ago

I make such a ballin' sandwich, I'd much prefer that I make the sandwiches in the relationship. Seriously, I turn out SILFs like it's my job.

[–]mtreef2 0 points1 point ago

SILF, damn that is great.

[–]revant54 -1 points0 points ago

Maybe it's just me, but I'd rather eat my sandwich than fuck it :P

[–]RexArcana 6 points7 points ago

Wait until you put mine your mouth.

[–]revant54 2 points3 points ago

Well I guess the only reasonable way to solve this is for you to make me a sandwich. Then I will gladly put it in my mouth. And possibly fuck it if need be.

[–]hipsta-smasha 19 points20 points ago

its obviously not this black in white, but i think the point is that its not automatically easy to be a dude, even though its a "man's world". we have our share of problems too, and I can think of a list that goes the other way. thanks for realizing this instead of just being offended (unless you're being sarcastic lol)

[–]bolognaismyfirstname 0 points1 point ago

I'm not being sarcastic:)

[–]Xenophyophore -4 points-3 points ago

man's world

I am pretty sure that this is not accurate.

[–]artificialpropulsor 0 points1 point ago

how is it not? there are entire cultures on this planet based around the subjugation of women.

[–]Xenophyophore 0 points1 point ago

The oppression of women in countries such as Afghanistan is a result of an incredibly misguided attempt at protecting them gone wrong.

There is no culture that I know of that bases everything off of making life harder for women.

[–]artificialpropulsor 0 points1 point ago

well, regardless of what's being attempted, they're still being oppressed. and i don't know of any culture that bases "everything" around making life harder for women either, but that still often winds up being the case in many cultures.

well, i wasn't saying that NO culture makes life harder for women, i was just clarifying that i don't think there are any cultures whose entire specific modus operandi is shitting on women, more that it's just a byproduct of whatever overall backwards social ideology that a particular culture subscribes to. of course i understand that women have been oppressed the world over for millenia.

Tries to pee standing up:

Urinates everywhere..

Can stand.

[–]maleficIrish 12 points13 points ago

I'm fucked :(

[–]principe_di_reddit -2 points-1 points ago

me too!

[–]Gockel 2 points3 points ago

I only I were.

[–]demonicsoap 9 points10 points ago

As a man who is not the most "manly" I can vouch for some of this stuff. I haven't had a serious gf in a while and I have def tried. Now before you say "Oh you must be an asshole, or a dick," I can assure you I am not. I'm also pretty attractive, confident, wealthy enough, and sorta funny but because I am not the kind of guy to never show weakness I get downplayed. It has caused a lot of problems internally over the past few years. It is tough and I should be able to complain about it... rant over. Felt good to say that finally :)

Hang in there! Women have become the scarier sex in many ways. If it's any consolation, there are good women out there and I hope you find one! I'm a rare chica (don't want kids, good bread-and-butter job, cooks, cleans, cute looking, and not too socially awkward penguin) and happily married for 12 years now, I have no agenda and I speak honestly my needs and wants with my video game playing IT military hubby. Better to be alone and happy, then with someone bad for you that makes you miserable. TMI, mabbe, but it makes me sad to hear about all the 'liberated' women playing love games with these sweet guys.

[–]cactuar44 0 points1 point ago

Lots of women are like that. They're not rare. Sorry, but you come off a bit overly-confident.

[–]MauiNurse 0 points1 point ago

It's cool, I may be "overly confident" but it's better than a low self esteem looking for ego boosts on /gonewild. And I'm glad there are a lot of chicas like me, I haven't met many like me, but what do I know. You must be rolling in gf.

[–]AmboC 6 points7 points ago

The downvoted posts on this thread are worth as many laughs as this post. Nothing is black and white, it's meant for humor, calm down.

[–]ElyBoBelly 4 points5 points ago

"You are homosexual..."

"Guys think you are really hot"

Dat Logic.

[–]WarFuzz 9 points10 points ago

Pretty sure guys think lesbians are hot.

[–]aldenhg 3 points4 points ago

Which means nothing to said lesbians.

[–]mangonel 8 points9 points ago

Not nothing. Regardless of the compatibility of your own sexuality and those who overtly find you attractive, it does your self esteem some good.

[–]artificialpropulsor 2 points3 points ago

uh, yeah, tell that to the multi-billion dollar lesbian porn industry.

[–]bassivemalls 5 points6 points ago

I agree with pretty much all of them more or less except for the "You aren't attractive" one.

C'mon women have it far worse if they are unattractive compared to guys.

But only because more women than guys, value money/financial security over looks.

[–]no0b_64 4 points5 points ago

Hold on, I agree here. Also consider this, unattractive women have to deal with men and women who treat them poorly because of it unattractive men manly have to deal with women who treat them poorly because of it.

[–]artificialpropulsor 4 points5 points ago

very true. like, in high school, being an unattractive dude means you probably just won't date much. being an unattractive girl in high school, people will go out of their way make you feel miserable about yourself.

[–]Awkward_moments 1 point2 points ago

Dont know why you're being down voted. Im a dude and i agree with you. I once tried to work out at what point its easier to be a guy than a girl purely based on looks. Was hard.

[–]sideous 2 points3 points ago

Personal discrepancy aside, why is this funny? I was expecting it to get jokey at the end and it didn't. It was just "look at these double standards, aren't they funny?"

[–]futureruins 0 points1 point ago

Peculiar funny, not haha funny...depending on the reader I suppose.

[–]HecticHeretic 0 points1 point ago

But... we can pee anywhere so that pretty much makes it even in my book.

[–]makindrick 0 points1 point ago

Why would you think it's a benefit for women to only be expected to be vapid?

Oh, I mean as long as they're hot, of course.

no one's saying it's not hard to be a woman (and you even left out the whole thing about constant unwanted attention from the opposite sex and the very real threat of sexual assault). OP was just illustrating a lot of the things that get overlooked about a man's role in society.

and you think attractive women sponging off of wealthy men isn't a thing that's common? just because you may not want to admit it doesn't mean it isn't true.

[–]karaokejunkie 0 points1 point ago

Righht, because it's the 20 year old women sponging off the 80 year old men who are the REAL bad guys here. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. Are we not an enlightened society? Is it the 50's on this thread or something? Jesus christ, get it together.

[–]artificialpropulsor 0 points1 point ago

who the hell's saying they're "bad guys"? whether you choose to believe it or not, golddiggers exist and they're far more commonly female than male. how is this an inaccurate statement?

[–]karaokejunkie 0 points1 point ago

I'm saying both sides take advantage equally. Why is it worse for the woman to be using a man for money, when HE'S using her for sex?? Do you actually not see the double standard there?

[–]artificialpropulsor 0 points1 point ago

again, no one here has said it's "bad" for women to be fucking a man for money. yes, people out there sometimes enter into relationships where they exploit eachother for an exchange of money and sex. what's your point?

[–]Crustis -1 points0 points ago

Looks like i'm fucked over and over... i need to work out more and make more money i think.... fuck.

i think the point of this post is to show that there are indeed some situations where women do have it easier than men. This doesn't mean that one gender has it better overall.

For centuries, men's emotional and psychological problems have been all but ignored, with the usual solution to all of our woes being, "Man up". In liberal and educated cultural centers, the hardship of women throughout history is very well know and talked about, and inequalities are being actively worked against. This basically highlights the plight of men who don't fit the described masuline norm. Women who don't fit the feminine norm are also ostracized, but as the post points out, in liberal society, most of these qualities are now being regarded as "plusses". Men who self-describe as passive, introverted, or not especially masculine, have the double burden of overcoming their own fears of their shortcomings, as well as the judgment of society, which is only starting to accept less-masculine men as normal. Important to note: even though pop culture has assimilated the image of the more feminine, metro-sexual man, the gender roles that these icons play in media are still extremely classical.

[–]facefirst 18 points19 points ago

Yes. You're the only woman anywhere who finds this offensive.

[–]buba_fett -1 points0 points ago

Depends on if you're the only woman who has seen it yet.

[–]iou1username -3 points-2 points ago

So all men are lazy and neurotic, and all women are shallow, vapid assholes? I get it now!

[–]artificialpropulsor 4 points5 points ago

not all women are shallow, vapid assholes... but society sure as hell makes it easy for them to be.

[–]rodger_klotz 0 points1 point ago

I believe that was the joke.

[–]Elc1247 -5 points-4 points ago

its either "I'm Fucked" or "Grow some balls!" or "Raped to death in prison"

well... that escalated quickly...

[–]WarFuzz -3 points-2 points ago

ITT: People who don't understand what a fucking generalization is.

[–]HeWhoDoesntHateVests -5 points-4 points ago

There's pros and cons to being a guy. But finding creative ways to enumerate them is just mental masturbation. Learn to live on this planet bro. Some things are here to stay.
