There was also a top comment a while back on a post about what you'd do if you had a billion dollars or something and they said they would use the money to have an orphan actually believe he was harry potter for years (using to money to make fake magic effects and hire actors) then at the point he goes to run into the entrance at 9 and 3/4 streamers come down and say magic isn't real.

So? Just because someone says magic isn't real, doesn't mean it's promoting atheism. I saw that post, it had nothing to do with religion, and no one tried to bring religion into it. Except people like you, who find it necessary to prove how "smart" they are, when they are just being a douche. Just, stop commenting, stop.

Magic is definitely real. It's just not what non-magicians think it is. :)

As a magician (eleven years), I can tell you that what the audience experiences is as real as anything. If it wasn't, then it wouldn't be effective. :)

Every time I talk to a magician, I feel like the weird one out. I don't go into a show to be impressed by the impossible becoming possible. I mean, yeah, I love seeing a trick the first time through. I also love seeing it the 2nd 3rd and 4th (or more) times until i figure it out. My real fun watching a trick, however, is once I know how the trick actually works. I absolutely love watching a magician when I know exactly what they are going to do and seeing it happen. I love watching the slight of hand, the misdirect, every little element of the trick to see how the interact and what exact way this magician makes all these moving parts come together into such a great illusion. Every time I talk to a magician, though, they tell me nobody likes the trick once they know how its done; the magic is gone. I feel the exact opposite, the real magic is once you know exactly how it is done.

Almost everybody, yeah. Well, its not that they don't like the trick per sae... rather, they're disappointed. But guess what? That means they think it maybe, possibly, just might have been real magic. Don't pop that bubble. That's the experience, as a magician, we strive to create.
