He's a good cat worth more to me then $500. And he's anything but handicapped. In fact his short legs don't impede him in anyway other then jumping directly on the counter but, he like any cat is smart enough to find and alternate route.

Actually they have many problems such as heart and leg issues, and arthritis. Also when they are bred for this trait the kittens die and the ones that are not cute(their mutations comes about the wrong way) they are not adopted, just killed. They are cute as fuck but i would not support their breeding, such as with the puppy mills.

If you get a cat you aren't getting it for utility. I've rescued many pets and currently have a dumpy fat dog who I love with all my heart.

You are the one who implied that people shouldn't love none-utilitarian cats.

I was stating the truth, both tables serve their purposes but they are different. Is the fancy but less than functional one less deserving of love? The problem you might say is that any such demand exists, but that isn't what you said, you said that they should've gotten a different cat.

It's not a handicap, it's a naturally occurring genetic mutation. The cats are fine. If you breed two munchkin cats there's a 25% chance the offspring will die, if you breed a munchkin cat with a normal cat the offspring will be fine, and has an even chance of being munchkin or normal.

Yeah, it is a deformity that people intentionally breed because it looks cute. Many kittens in the litter don't get the 'cute' deformity, they're just messed up in an ugly or dead way. Those ones just get tossed so the cute ones can be adorable pets. r/aww, how cute.
