I got so used to my ipod's rubber protector that now I feel uncomfortable holding without it, feels like it's gonna slip from my hands.

I use my iPad sometimes as a mouse pad.

I find cases for anything phone/tablet/laptop related is just silly. How often do you drop that shit? My mom has a case that's like .5 inches thick on each side surrounding her iPhone and she never drops it.

Well, from my own personal experiences, I have dropped mine many times. And if it wasn't for my case I probably wouldn't be having a phone right now.

No case and my two year old drops it all the time. These things were built well. There are no moving parts to break. Scratches can happen, but I don't have more than 2 small ones. If something were to happen to break the screen, no screen protector is going to prevent that.

Never had a case on any of my iPads or iPhones (have owned each model) and never had a problem.

When I see people WITH iPad cases, all I see are clumsy fools with too much money. Seriously, just carry that shit. It's not made out of ginger bread or something, it'll be ok just as long as you don't throw it off a table.

There's an argument for wanting to exercise caution. Especially when you paid $500+ for a piece of magical glass. Yeah, it probably won't break but there is always that possibility.

I for one, use my iPad case to protect against scratches when I put it in my backpack.

I'm really terrible with dropping things. If I own something with the potential of being dropped, I probably have a case for it.

Don't breed.

Only reason I use a case is because it has the stand and because I always get the reflective Apple logo scratched to all hell.

I imagine the majority of people don't need a case, but for those who want to maintain a scratch free device for re-sale value cases are a necessary evil.

...says the guy named JustinCase!

iPods are designed without a case for a reason, you're just adding extra girth to your banana.

If you break the entire wrap-around screen (just a little tap!), you can buy a new one!

Ahhh money!
