Rules

  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

  5. Submissions must link directly to a specific image file or to an image hosting website with minimal ads. We do not allow blog hosting of images ("blogspam"), but links to albums on image hosting websites are okay. URL shorteners are prohibited.

  6. No animated images. Please submit them to /r/gif, /r/gifs, or /r/reactiongifs instead.

  • If your submission appears to be filtered but definitely meets the above rules, please send us a message with a link to the comments section of your post (not a direct link to the image). Don't delete it as that just makes the filter hate you!

  • If you come across any rule violations, please report the submission or message the mods and one of us will remove it!

Please also try to come up with original post titles. Submissions that use certain clichés/memes will be automatically tagged with a warning.

I knew I shouldn't google it, but I did.

[–]Sanhael 18 points19 points ago

9,997. I don't know how I had remained unaware of this until now.

[–]MagmaGuy 29 points30 points ago

You guys should join the lemon party to fight back against this kind of content on the internet. While you're at it, hop on the loltrain to visit encyclopedia dramatica's definition of being offended.

[–]ReplaceSelect 12 points13 points ago

I'm really glad Urban Dictionary exists so that I can see what those are without clicking the link.

[–]Fr33ki_DooD 2 points3 points ago

Can't get enough of that curiosity!

[–]nomanoid 16 points17 points ago

Great. Now you made me think about Freddie Mercury and Goatse at the same time. Thanks a lot.

[–]Aneds 6 points7 points ago

And another one gone, another one gone

[–]thechemicalbanjo 2 points3 points ago

gonna get you too

[–]Killm360 36 points37 points ago

Well there's another soul taken ಠ_ಠ

[–]Jeepersca 2 points3 points ago

Not really so innocent anymore. Hard not to get some of that on you, even with just a glance.

[–]YogurtShaker 2 points3 points ago

Not anymore s/he's not

[–]Bar_Mitzvah_MC 88 points89 points ago

Let this one go guys. Innocence like this is rare.

[–]Unidan 53 points54 points ago

This is like The Giver but with butts.

[–]Smithorine 27 points28 points ago

I am now convinced Wikipedia has everything.

[–]anhero23 16 points17 points ago

Welcome to the internet. Here's our complimentary eye bleach.

[–]jesuslovesmeee 9 points10 points ago

This is fucking awesome. I just witnessed someone seeing Goatse for the first time. I feel like an angel received leathery wings somewhere.

[–]weirdcommercials 2 points3 points ago

Those are links that I wouldn't even click in the corner of the library.

[–]saxcy 33 points34 points ago

NSFW, You don't actually want to see this

but it's allways good to strengthen your internet mental shell

[–]SamElliottsVoice 86 points87 points ago

Son of a bitch. My habit of impulsively clicking on the RES picture expand button as soon as I see it has really come back to bite me in the ass this time.

[–]TitusAndroidicus 45 points46 points ago

You just had to use that idiom, didn't you?

[–]SamElliottsVoice 14 points15 points ago

pun intended?

[–]AdvocateForLucifer 20 points21 points ago

It's reddit. The pun is always intended.

[–]zenmunster 10 points11 points ago

Fuck why didn't I listen when you said don't look at this. What is wrong with these people.

[–]rotzooi 17 points18 points ago

Well, granted, "goatse" is not as descriptive.

[–]ZEB1138 10 points11 points ago

I know what goatse is, but I expected something titled NSFW DON'T LOOK to be some kind of joke, something completely unrelated to the topic at hand. It seemed too obvious.

[–]Timbuk2000 2 points3 points ago

Lesson learned... goatse isn't poker, you never double down even when you think someone is bluffing.

[–]faceplanted 9 points10 points ago

You should have made this comment a link to it as well, just to fuck with people.

[–]juicius 1 point2 points ago

And my 7 straight risky click win streak comes to an end...

[–]Charwinger21 13 points14 points ago

Congratulations.

You're one of today's lucky 10,000... err... make that unlucky...

[–]crackerjunx 2 points3 points ago

nooooooo dont look lol

[–]LightningRider 33 points34 points ago

From the moment I saw that picture I knew the first comment would be about that.

[–]clearly-obscure 8 points9 points ago

She knows :O

[–]fkenned1 5 points6 points ago

I'm so happy that this was the first comment because I only came here to see if anyone else saw it too.

[–]pinkflyd25 3 points4 points ago

The internet has forever scarred me!

[–]cuda123 8 points9 points ago

[–]Traptin_85 146 points147 points ago

if she ever commits a crime, she's fucked.

[–]elitegamerbros 45 points46 points ago

or maybe she doesn't have fingertips anymore from years of painting with them.

[–]gligoran 11 points12 points ago

It goes both ways. I bet this would be one hard artwork to counterfeit. Assuming she has any fingertips left.

[–]triforceofawesome 10 points11 points ago

It goes both way.

If she's fucked, she ever commits a crime.

[–]Soikz 121 points122 points ago

Who's the artist?

[–]petewud[S] 130 points131 points ago

Judith Ann Braun check her website here.

[–]SigmaStigma 17 points18 points ago

She has an exhibit in Norfolk, VA at the Chrysler museum, if anyone in that area is interested in seeing it close up, and smaller works.

[–]count757 2 points3 points ago

Whoa, Norfolk on reddit outside of /r/norfolk ?!

[–]ZuFFuLuZ 3 points4 points ago

Why do all artists these days have these terribly designed websites? Is that a job requirement or something?

[–]hezzer 5 points6 points ago

As an artist and someone who works at an art school- a lot of fine artists (not all) are very hands-on people who sometimes have trouble using more abstract tools (like HTML) to create things. Also, most artists are broke and don't want to hire someone else to design their website.

[–]clearly-obscure 8 points9 points ago

They should teach Google-fu in schools.

The artist is Judith Brain Braun

God, why do artists have such shitty websites? It's such a shame

[–]jokah 39 points40 points ago

[–]MaeveningErnsmau 13 points14 points ago

Let's not just quote the song, that's so unoriginal, I mean hey now everybody now hey now everybody hey now everybody now.

pffft. Fingertips part 2 (1963) - this is what made "Little" Stevie Wonder famous - playing the harmonica.

[–]RetailComic 17 points18 points ago

Her mom is gonna be pissed when she gets home.

[–]skcll 55 points56 points ago

I can't believe there are hardly any comments talking about how beautiful this all is, how careful and elaborate it all is.

[–]AshyWings 15 points16 points ago

Art 2012 isn't really appreciated anymore.

EVERYTHING has been done and with the internet everyone has seen it all, so people are VERY rarely taken aback by stunning work like this. Everyone will acknowledge that it takes skill and that it's nice, but we'll all forget it in a few minutes. Visual artistry in 2012 is sort of sad

[–]LeonardNemoysHead 8 points9 points ago

I, for one, hope that audio-visual saturation will draw people back to theatre. There's that something-else factor about it being live that makes all the difference. Also, I need to eat so please god go to your local theatres.

[–]HarrietPotter53 1 point2 points ago

but tell me something good about the theatre, i hear aplenty of people saying it's sad they're on the way out but people say that about record players and most absurdly of all video rental stores. If Oscar Wilde had been alive in recent times then isn't it very likely The Importance of Being Earnest would be a screenplay and a pinewood blockbuster? and Shakespeare wrote many of his plays around the new gadgets his theatres had recently purchased, would the Tempest have even existed if his company hadn't recently found itself in possession of a giant thunder board? it's been doubted; and so isn't it likely the bard would be using more CGI than Lucas in Episode one? would classic lines be remembered not 'this firmament....congregation of vapours' or 'on these creaking boards' and 'in this globe' but instead 'and upon that silver screen' 'life but a moving painting and us all but characters in it' or 'wow, look at all those explosions and dead people!'?

Tell me something which makes theatre better than modern media other than it's history and heritage (which actually it's worth noting in this debate has been absurdly altered, i haven't even see the Royal Shakespeare Company burst into mirthful dances full of tumbles and lewdness--not even at those sports where the text specifically demands it! The Theatre today performs Shakespeare so unlike his originals i expect he's have more affinity with the Kenneth Branagh version. (although personally i expect he'd rather like this one somewhat)

So, LeonardNemoysHead, i ask you to tell me why i should love the theatre still?

[–]Tsenraem 10 points11 points ago

My daughter really needs to step it up with the fingerpainting

[–]entropikone 74 points75 points ago

Just the tips

[–]BangingABigTheory -1 points0 points ago

Seriously... honestly...there is one fucking comment on here and its exactly what I came here to say

[–]iamsurroundedbyidiot 11 points12 points ago

Danger zone!

[–]Today_is_Thursday 17 points18 points ago

I wonder if that rubs her fingertips raw...

[–]FiveSmash 9 points10 points ago

Seriously, this looks like it would be painful.

[–]doree 2 points3 points ago

She must go through gallons of hand cream

[–]crypticthree 6 points7 points ago

Chuck Close did some [fingerprint paintings] in the seventies. Years later he became paralyzed when a blood vessel in his spine exploded. Many have speculated that his condition is a result of long term contact with benzene compounds found in regular stamp pads.

[–]acquiredsight 5 points6 points ago

I believe this artist uses charcoal. Still hard to clean, though!

[–]faceplanted 5 points6 points ago

1). Mix moisturiser with paint
2). create art
3). ?????
4). still work at Starbucks.

[–]raspberryroot 13 points14 points ago

she was on a season of "work of art," but sadly the lame made-for-tv restrictions of a competition based program got her booted off early

[–]traumaprotocol 3 points4 points ago

I know it's all completely distorted, and pretty much scripted for the outcome the producers want...

but I thought she was a wack-a-doo, one-trick-pony. (And this is on the same season as an artist whose go to was "Take nekkid cam pictures of myself in the bathroom!)

[–]neshcom 3 points4 points ago

Honestly, she didn't really grasp the challenge she was eliminated on. It was the book cover one, right?

[–]bosstone42 2 points3 points ago

i dont think there's anything really lame about it; she was kind of a horrible person on the show and didn't complete the challenges like they directed. of course her work is beautiful, but if you enter a contest like that, it's not the contest's fault that you can't/don't do the tasks, it's your own.

[–]lisan_al_gaib 8 points9 points ago

HA! and my art teacher said that I couldn't focus in finger-painting!

[–]rocky13 8 points9 points ago

sigh Another art teacher caught in her own paradigm of what are acceptable mediums for art and what are not.

[–]darkbrethren 6 points7 points ago

That second to last one... Uzumaki.

[–]hank_scorpion_king 4 points5 points ago

Well that's just delightful.

[–]GraharG 3 points4 points ago

Saw first 2 pictures and thought, oh great its some concieted idiot who thinks a few fingerprints on white is "art"

Saw rest, thought holy shit they are good.

[–]blaix 1 point2 points ago

[–]stereotypeless 6 points7 points ago

[–]fatHalpert 4 points5 points ago

That escalated quickly.

[–]Countpudyoola 2 points3 points ago

Soooooo who's going to clean that up?

[–]Reusje 2 points3 points ago

amazing!

[–]TheGadgetCat 2 points3 points ago

I expected Fingertips by They Might be Giants, and then I realized that this isn't /r/music :(

[–]zcat 0 points1 point ago

Two thumbs up!

[–]armchairpessimist 0 points1 point ago

You could say it was all at her fingertips.

[–]rajington 4 points5 points ago

[–]darien_gap 3 points4 points ago

Artists give me hope for humanity.

[–]jawzman 5 points6 points ago

Why has no one said this yet? REPOST.

Edit: too lazy to look for all the times this has come up but here's one: http://imgur.com/a/iONu2

[–]YogurtShaker 11 points12 points ago

I haven't seen it before, so I upvotes. Sidebar rules and rediquette also state not to complain about reposts. Just because you have seen it does not mean everyone has. Unless you sift through literally every image in every subreddit, you will not be familiar with every single image. As Borax even stated its been posted to r/pics once before, as well as to r/trippy and r/drugs (but without proof) which are not front page subreddits, even as a drug user I'm not subscribed to those.

[–]manbearpig1204 3 points4 points ago

I was kind about saying it only because it was a month ago, and I actually enjoyed seeing it again. Repost nonetheless, but still.

[–]justsoldmysoul -1 points0 points ago

I was surprised nobody noticed it yet either

[–]StrictlyBusiness055 2 points3 points ago

I was like "meh...meh...meh...meh...hmm...oh shit"

[–]Catsenoughh 2 points3 points ago

Just gonna say, she was on Bravo's Show "Work Of Art" She pissed me off, glad she didn't win.

[–]Paladia 0 points1 point ago

That escalated quickly

[–]joho0 0 points1 point ago

I swear you could give an artistic person a turd and a spatula and they'll create a masterpiece. I will never understand how that works.

[–]therussianalias 1 point2 points ago

more pics? page?

[–]wee_man 0 points1 point ago

I would like to feed them to the wolverines.

[–]Mistr-E 0 points1 point ago

I've seen this artist posted before, but I just thought I'd say that this past summer some of her work was up in the art gallery at the Albany airport and it was really awesome. It seemed like not many people went in there, but I was stuck at the airport for a few hours and the fact that there was actually some really interesting (and trippy) artwork in there was cool.

This art would make GREAT eye candy for tripping, as would a bunch of the art in the gallery at that airport. I wouldn't be surprised if the person who organizes that is into psychedelics or something, all the artwork seemed pretty psychedelic.

[–]ImAtWorkRightNow9090 0 points1 point ago

Do the first few remind anyone else of this scene from No Country For Old Men?

[–]drdroidx 1 point2 points ago

forensics is gonna have a field day with this.

[–]TheRobotRabbit 1 point2 points ago

My life drawing teacher used to scream at us for doing this in the studio.

WE COULD HAVE BEEN FAMOUS. :(

[–]Evian_Drinker -1 points0 points ago

This is crazy, all the talented people in the world should chip in and make my life slightly less terribly artless.

[–]DougDimmadome44 0 points1 point ago

This is some crazy finger paint

[–]Potentv 0 points1 point ago

if someone ever gets murdered in one of those places, she is totally screwed...

[–]Soopaman 0 points1 point ago

You've really got to hand it to her.

[–]raffytraffy 1 point2 points ago

acciiiiddd

[–]thebuggalo 0 points1 point ago

Rubbing slightly wet fingers on a dry surface gives me a horrible feeling. Like nails on a chalk board. Ughhhh....

[–]Citisol 1 point2 points ago

Her mom is going to be pissed when she gets home.

[–]lastrideelhs 0 points1 point ago

And who said we couldn't finger paint as adults

[–]Fox_That_Fights 1 point2 points ago

For some reason this seems really gross to me.

But maybe that's because I hate fingerprints on my monitor/tv/cymbals/drumheads/car/windows/phone/cups/controllers/mirrors/knives/guns/evidence.... :|

[–]soraven 0 points1 point ago

and the transformation between just-crazy and artistic wonderment is complete

[–]john_nyc 0 points1 point ago

Bet she was yelled at as a child for getting finger prints on walls and mirrors...this is how she coped with punishments and beatings. No fingerprints?!?! Well screw you mom and dad look at me now!!!

[–]L4HA 0 points1 point ago

Ok .... You have impressed me.

[–]sirqueefsalot 0 points1 point ago

This is amazing! I loved working in charcoal while at school. How does she seal the wall though so nothing gets smudged? Spray fixative is absolutely horrible and would require a gas mask.

[–]d3lan0 -1 points0 points ago

very cool... I dare you to commit a crime!!!!

[–]see_boo_no_comments -1 points0 points ago

This is Judy from the first season of "The Next Great Artist". I think she was the second person kicked off, which says a lot about the state of reality contest shows.

[–]lmmelaf 1 point2 points ago

This is incredible.

[–]Shaaman -1 points0 points ago

The artist should hope that no one will be murder in that room

[–]shaynethecoker -1 points0 points ago

What a difference the balancing makes in the finished and unfinished shots of that landscape. I love art.

Also, I haven't checked the comments and I'm sure it's been said, but this takes finger painting to a whole new level. Good show.

[–]techs1200 0 points1 point ago

he's an artist he says, he's fucking running around naked with a chainsaw

[–]lemorgencremefraiche -1 points0 points ago

Just the tip?

[–]jman16 0 points1 point ago

This job looks like a handful (pun intended)

[–]skyman724 -1 points0 points ago

And to think at my age (19) I still finger paint like I'm 2...........

[–]mcellucci -1 points0 points ago

Someone please give this poor girl a paintbrush.

[–]corbiiindallasss -1 points0 points ago

I bet her parents discovered her talent when she was 4.

[–]MrFleshlight -1 points0 points ago

Good artwork, but why do people have such an odd fascination with gaping assholes?

[–]Ziggax 0 points1 point ago

This is great, she came to my school and did a piece in the gallery here. Damn good

[–]MJE123 0 points1 point ago

What a great talent.

[–]MoeJoe_JoeJoe 1 point2 points ago

Reminds me of Junji Ito's "Uzumaki"

[–]anjewthebearjew 0 points1 point ago

Jesus christ Bob Ross.

[–]buttnutela 0 points1 point ago

I've seen her work before. She smeared a superman "S" in a bathroom stall with her own feces. There was a wtf post about it.

[–]callius -1 points0 points ago

This really reminds me of contemporary art by Australian Aboriginal people. The techniques are really similar, though the representation of space is completely different.

You should check out the Seattle Art Museum's recent exhibition.

[–]Ironfit 0 points1 point ago

Amaaaaaazing creativity and Art !!!!

[–]hobojuice -1 points0 points ago

i would buy wallpaper of this for my bedroom.

[–]Ometheus -1 points0 points ago

Well that escalated quickly.

[–]YourAnalysis 0 points1 point ago

When I'm reincarnated, I want to come back as Warren Beatty's fingertips circa 1976.

[–]Hatch- 1 point2 points ago

I was certain I would get to the last frame and see the artist was using feces. I was CERTAIN of it. Now I feel empty.

[–]maestro_sartori 1 point2 points ago

gorgeous!

[–]GrammarPandaSaysNo 1 point2 points ago

Well it's certainly going to be hard to counterfeit!

[–]shrim51 0 points1 point ago

[–]hoboman505 1 point2 points ago

This is the kind of modern art the world needs, not some bullshit dot on a white space.

[–]papabehr14 1 point2 points ago

That is amazing

[–]vwilliamsaz 1 point2 points ago

they make it look easy

[–]RyCohSuave -1 points0 points ago

Kudos to her kindergarten teacher, who awakened her deep, instinctual ability to fingerpaint.

[–]SeisGurl9 -1 points0 points ago

Quickly progressed from can do, should try this, huh, nevermind.

[–]cowbeef01 0 points1 point ago

I do that with my phone.. so many fingerprints :\

[–]itsGettinTooHot 0 points1 point ago

Finger paintin's cool.

[–]syltmunken20 1 point2 points ago

this is really amazing artwork!

[–]Ivalance -1 points0 points ago

Mom's worst nightmare of her toddler.

[–]Ktc6898 0 points1 point ago

I bet ur fingers where super stained afterwards.

[–]portedGoblin -1 points0 points ago

Some people have a lot of time I think.

[–]her_gentleman_lover 0 points1 point ago

Don't fingerpaint they say. It's childish they say.

[–]healthexercise 0 points1 point ago

Nice arts.

[–]ProfessorBroman -1 points0 points ago

Anytime I see something like this I think, "Wow, that's cool! I should try something that!" Then I think how much time It would take and how I would give up in 15 minutes tops, and go back to reddit like always.

[–]jumpingbuddhas 0 points1 point ago

Things she should never do: Commit a crime.

[–]if_ihada_nickel 0 points1 point ago

I will never make fun of finger painting ever again.

[–]sear1222 -1 points0 points ago

First four pictures I think "wow, awesome... I might be able to give that a shot and get similar results..." Fifth picture, "huh... maybe not..." Sixth picture and beyond, "welp, back to using my free time playing video games..."

[–]grandballoon 0 points1 point ago

She had a couple pieces on display at my college this past Spring. The level of symmetry is mind-boggling.

[–]Yousernaim -1 points0 points ago

Good place to commit a crime

[–]easybuttonaddict -1 points0 points ago

Funny, I got in trouble when I tried to do that as a kid. Maybe my parents just don't appreciate artistic expression.

[–]Misty_Chaos -1 points0 points ago

Looking at first two images

Well, that is kind of neat.

Sees final two images

HOLY SHIT! O.O

[–]2abyssinians 1 point2 points ago

Chuck Close made some pretty great fingerprint pictures. Here is one of Phillip Glass.

[–]mattlantis -1 points0 points ago

Reminded me of this

[–]SO_not_a_raper -1 points0 points ago

Washing away the evidence of a hand-job from her would take days

[–]Kryten_2X4B_523P 1 point2 points ago

I saw saw the first couple and was like "fuck, the bar is low in the art world".

Then I scrolled down...

[–]Pictoru 0 points1 point ago

that's why you shouldn't punch your kid in the throat when he fingerpaints your walls ....someday he might end up on the frontpage

[–]KangaRuthless -1 points0 points ago

That is incredible.

[–]Madworldz -1 points0 points ago

Even awsome would call this awsome.

[–]NotLost_JustUnfound 0 points1 point ago

Wow, finger painting has come a long way since I was a kid...

[–]lolredditor 0 points1 point ago

I think that would be very painful on the fingertips after awhile if she didn't use some sort of covering.

Ouch.

[–]goods84 0 points1 point ago

picture 3 is a fucking goatse
