We once had a basset that was so incredibly lazy - he was all flopped out in the sunshine one day when someone kicked over the cooler, spilling ice, cold water and canned sodas all over and around him. He didn't so much as flinch.

This isn't normal, we bred basset hounds to look like that, and yes there are very serious health consequences to having skin like that. Would you want to breed with a human who had skin that droopy?

The dogs themselves are cute but I consider the breeding of these dogs and the reverence of floppy skin to be animal abuse.
